There is a sizable percentage of SC voters that love cheap labor importers.

I am shocked that Kasich has risen in SC, and Cruz is in fourth.

Doesn’t look bad to me at all. In fact, it would be awesome if it stayed that way.

In other words, we’re looking at New Hampshire again. 1st place Trump by a wide margin, followed by Kasich, Rubio and Cruz essentially tied or very close to each other. And Trump is even dominating the same demographics (all of them, though I think one poll said he was tied or slightly behind with millenials) again as seen in other polls.
To: Jim Noble
He did very well in NH, and isn’t “unlikeable” in his demeanor, coming across like John-Boy Walton.
He will likely emerge as the solid not Trump candidate unless Rubio or Jeb does well in Florida.
To: dlt
Negative ads against Rubio and Cruz are blanketing the airwaves. Also remember that South Carolina has open primaries, meaning Democrats can cross over and try and create chaos in the GOP ranks.

Who is running the anti Cruz ads, if you know?
The Sanders/Hillary contest should be close enough to prevent overly much Dem interference.

Depending on the vote it might not matter who comes in 2nd, 3d, etc.
At least with respect to the delegate count.
South Carolina’s republican primary is a modified winner-take-all election.
There are 50 delegates to be awarded.
There are some calculations involved but here is a simplified explanation of how they are awarded:
The state-wide winner gets at least 29 of the state’s 50 delegates.
The other 21 delegates are awarded based on the winner in the state’s seven congressional districts.
If Trump wins the statewide election and wins in each of the congressional district he should get all 50 delegates.
Unless there is some democrat party style manipulation behind the scenes.
