I just watched a video blurb from earlier today when Cruz fired his guy, and man, I don’t know if I’m just fully jaded or what because of everything that’s happened, but when he was talking and, I guess sort of apologizing for the mistake, he did a very lawyery thing. Here’s exactly what he said:
“It turned out the news story he sent around was false, but I’ll tell ya, even if it was true, we are not a campaign that is going to question the faith of another candidate... even if it was true... our campaign should not have sent it, that’s why I’ve asked for Rick Tyler’s resignation.”
Why keep saying “even if it was true”? It wasn’t true. Seems like he’s being a double-talking lawyer trying to plant the seed of doubt about Rubio’s faith.

With Trump cutting into Cruz's evangelical demographic and sharing the Texas senator's purism over illegal immigration, the real estate mogul looms as a more potent second choice for Cruz supporters than Rubio. After Trump and his supporters go out every day and spread lies about Cruz, why would any of his supporters go to Trump? He's the last person I would vote for in the primary!
