Right now we are seeing an assault on our freedoms and our security. On the one hand, the Obama administration has come after our Bill of Rights - from his administration's assault on religious liberty to its effort to strip Americans of their Second Amendment right to bear arms and the concerted effort to replace state and local control with federal bureaucratic overreach.
On the other hand, the Obama administration continues to compromise our safety by not only failing to secure the border but by creating policies that make the problem worse. President Obama has unilaterally extended executive amnesty to millions under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), incentivizing more to break the law as was evident by the massive border surge in 2013. This defied both the Constitution and the rule of law.
As lieutenant governor of Texas, I can think of no person better suited than Ted Cruz to take the challenges of Obama's failures head on and restore constitutional government.
Texas has led the way against President Obama's reckless amnesty, and no presidential candidate has fought harder to end Obama's illegal actions that Senator Cruz. Since the Gang of Eight fight, Ted Cruz has led Congress and millions of conservatives to stop the Obama-Schumer-Rubio amnesty deal. That massive immigration package would not only have granted amnesty to millions, it would also have expanded the President's authority to unilaterally admit refugees while also failing to secure the border.
Ted Cruz, along with Reps. Jeff Sessions, Steve King, and other strong House conservatives, successfully stopped the Gang of Eight bill. We need a president who will have the same resolve not simply to stop bad legislation but also to...

Not that it’s Ted’s fault in particular but the Senate and House haven’t done jack to stop Obama. In many cases they’ve abetted what Obama has done.
As a non-Cruz guy, I think this is a very cool endorsement.
Way to go, Dan Patrick!
I am amazed an ESPN alum would ever consider supporting a Republican.
2013 Flashback: Donald Trump meets with illegal immigration activists, says âYouâve convinced meâ
Nope, that’s not him. Dan Patrick, Lt. Gov of Texas, was the guy in the crazy plaid shirt with the white collar and dirty jeans beside Ted Cruz in Nevada. (Shaking head in embarrassment) and to think he’s the most politically powerful person in Texas.
Wrong Dan Patrick.
Not the same Dan Patrick. This one is Texas Lt. Gov., not the leftist sports guy.
Folks, if you're reading this, you know what needs to happen.
If you can, please support the forum at this time. Thank you.
Bingo!
Lol!
I saw lefty Dan Patrick’s picture in reply #3 and jumped the gun.
Thanks for the correction.
GodGunGuts, as a fellow conservative, thank you for all of your posts to assist Ted Cruz.
I WOULD SAY THIS TO THE DONALD TRUMP SUPPORTERS: Think very carefully about what you wish for. You have no idea how strong the feelings against Donald Trump are — even from conservatives. I have voted in EVERY presidential election for 40 years — and I can’t stand Trump. I do not believe I could EVER bring myself to vote for him, and please don’t tell me, I’m helping to elect Hillary Clinton as one Trumpite did. NO, YOU ARE HELPING TO ELECT HER BY NOMINATING THE SINGLE MOST UNPOPULAR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IN MODERN AMERICAN POLITICAL HISTORY. I resent your dirty tricks (Iowa, etc.) on Ted Cruz, the crudeness and nastiness of Trump, his lies about everything and the fact that I do not believe he is a conservative.
Here’s what Lou Cannon just wrote: Dan Balz of The Washington Post points to vulnerabilities: Trump had the lowest percentage of any South Carolina primary winner in the last 10 contests.
Trump has a solid and seemingly unshakable populist base among working-class voters without a college education. But he also has sky-high unfavorable ratings, with 28 percent of Republicans saying theyâd never vote for him. Indeed, Gallup’s surveys show Trump has the highest unfavorables of any presidential candidate in modern history, a net minus 70 among Democrats and a net minus 27 among independents.
THINK ABOUT THAT — Nearly one-third of Republican say they WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR HIM. Think long and hard. You’re the ones helping to elect the evil Clinton woman. If you think you can win a presidential election with 1/4 to 1/3 of Republicans saying they would never vote for your candidate, then you’re the ones with the problem.
trump isn’t trustworthy due to his record of democrat donations and leftwing advocacy.
If Cruz runs for president and only wins one state, will anyone know he ran?
My pleasure, and thanks for your excellent reply. It feels good standing for something good!
I just barely chose McCain over Obama.
I voted for third party candidates rather than Romney or Dole or W.
I would prefer someone as conservative as Cruz, but I will gladly vote for The Donald if he is the nominee of the Republican Party.
I'm gladly voting for him because I truly believe that he is a complete surprise to the Uniparty and will shake things up over the next four or eight years.
He may not govern conservatively on every issue, but if he sticks to his guns on immigration and our supposedly conservative congress can rein him in on social issues, then that will be a great win for America.
bwahahaha..
I like the Dan Patrick show, because 90% of the time they can keep is non political and they are pretty funny.. but there is no way in hell anyone on that show sniffs anything within a light year of supporting Cruz.. or any real republican..
McLovin is a wallyed barking moonbat when it comes to politics.. hell even when he talks sports he oozes commie..
