I prefer Cruz, but I'll happily settle for Trump.

I'm still having a hard time believing we aren't going to get another Bob Dull or George Dubya Bush or Juan McQueeg or Milt Romley shoved down our throats.

A little backstory...
Back when Ted was Beckless, Cruz challenged the very rich, very connected, very establishment Lt. Gov David Dewhurst for senator. During the course of Ted’s primary, Dan Patrick hosted a radio interview with Cruz that turned contentious (yet laughably mild by today’s standards). It turned out that Dan Patrick was anti-Cruz and quite vocal about it on his radio program, working madly against Ted all through the primary and runoff. The motive was later discovered. Patrick had his eye on running for Lt. Gov and wanted Dewhurst out of the way in the Senate as he didn’t want to run against a strong incumbent. Ted royally screwed that plan up. Patrick sucked it up and went full bore against Dewhurst for Lt. Gov, running quite a good campaign, which led to Patrick’s definitive win. Some people (ahem, like me) never forgave Patrick for his behavior toward Cruz, but politics makes for strange pairings, and now Dan Patrick is all about the Ted.

There was something that Romney said about Trump on Cavuto today that triggered a reflection and prediction about Trump as a GOP nominee, regarding releasing his tax returns(Trump refuses to release his saying that it hurt Romney doing it in 2012).

That Trump accused Obama of not being American (eligible) and demanded his BC in 2011.

Reid followed that in 2012 by Trump's example by accusing Romney of paying NO Federal taxes, demanding that Romney make his returns public.

Reid was completely protected from lawsuits on this because he made these accusations from the Senate floor.

Being uber-rich Trump's (one of) favorite weapon is lawsuits.

So as soon as Trump gets the nomination Reid will start playing the TRump card against Trump, fully protected from Trump's lawsuits.

No, I can't predict what will result. Stay tuned.

Dan Patrick was the guy in the goofy red plaid shirt, standing behind CRuz at CRuz’s NV long-winded *victory* speech. He’s the current Lt Gov of TX....but is on the campaign trail with CRuz. (Our land commissioner, Geo P Bush, can maybe finally come back and do the job HE was elected to do, now that his dad Jeb! has dropped out.)

He’s a former Houston sportscaster of questionable background. Has been accused of hiring illegals for one of his restaurants, while claiming to be anti-Open Borders/illegal immigration. (Nutshell)

“Nearly one-third of Republican say they WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR HIM. Think long and hard. You’re the ones helping to elect the evil Clinton woman. If you think you can win a presidential election with 1/4 to 1/3 of Republicans saying they would never vote for your candidate, then you’re the ones with the problem.”

That’s so silly. By the time November comes, most Pubs will be voting for Trump. Hillary will never win, as she is genuinely disliked as the crook with the rotten phony peronality that she is, by way more than would ever dislike Trump. You think all those very young Bernie loving supporters are going to bother to come out and vote for Hillary? You must be joking.

What used to be called Reagan Democrats, Joe Lunchbuckets, will vote for Trump. Union rank and file, not their elitist leaders, will vote for Trump. Lots of minorities, of both parties, will vote for Trump because he means jobs for them. You are not politically astute and don’t know what you are talking about.

Yep, Patrick seized his opportunity just as the anti-establishment, anti-Rino, anti-incumbent wave was starting to rise up. Being a political outsider outweighed background (although Ted was considered a thoroughbred through and through). Dan Patrick was definitely in the right place at the right time.

.... My main concern with Mr. Trump as a "Conservative" candidate .... is that he changed a lot of his platform stances much too recently, just before or right after his meeting with the Clinton's ..... That kinda scares me.

..... Heck ..... I have to wonder .... Is he the socialist fail-safe .... the proverbial placeholder to maintain a status-quo for 4-8 years until another socialist liberal takes back the reins? Like it or not .... this is a legitimate nagging concern.

..... Mr. Trump was/is a little bit too buddy, buddy with the Clinonista Family for my liking. For Pete's sake .... he was almost willing to do anything to have them attend his wedding. So now he is going to prosecute the arse outta Hillary?

.... My gut instinct is telling me there are way too many red flags with this guy.

Trump will be king of the Uniparty. He’s a phony. It will be W times two except with a weaker foreign policy. Not that W’s was any good.

Not one program will die, not one agency eliminated or even curtailed and not one dime less for any budget. The debt ceiling will still rise.

I just don’t trust him. I trust Rubio even less. Cruz is my choice but he isn’t catching on.

Yep, I think the uniparty has set us up again. This sneaked up on us while everyone was so excited about finally getting rid of obummer. We can’t even count on that anymore.
