Trump: ...But something has to be done with respect to immigration. As they said during the Republican debates, I think most of them agreed, really, you have people that have been here for 20 years, they speak the language, some of them don't even speak Spanish, but they speak the language. It's very, very tough, I mean on a human basis, on a lot of other bases, uh, to be throwing people out...
Kilmeade: If you're Donald Trump, how do you play this?
Trump: Well, it's a very complicated subject and you don't just play it one way, but for people that have been here for years that have, y'know, been hard workers, have good jobs, are supporting a family, it's very, very tough to just say, by the way, y'know, 22 years, you're getting, you have to leave, get out!
...
I'm one of the world's very conservative people but I have to tell you, on a human basis, how do you throw somebody out that's lived in this country for 20 years?
...[Romney talk]...
Doocy: ...What will hundreds of thousands of work permits do to unemployment and the economy at large?
Trump: Well, obviously, you know, the concept is that, uh, you throw everybody out and everybody else gets a job, but it doesn't work that way. And a lot of the jobs that these people have, a lot of other people don't want. ... Whether it's picking grapes or doing something else, you have jobs that a lot of people aren't going to want. So I don't think...it's as complicated as that. But we really have to come up with a solution. And we also have to have a solution with compassion. We have to show some compassion. We just can't throw everybody out.

Thanks for clearing that up - I was curious why you lumped me in with him.
Oh my God. I was standing up and nearly fell over!
Not.
This is 2016 for any of you who are interested.
Well good ole Huckleberry. He’s good for something and isn’t as sanctimonious.
Trump wakes up in a new world every morning. But 2012 is not that far back.
That site didn’t even last his views for “decades”
There is total probability that Trump will not follow through on his campaign promises.
What’s in it for Trump once he’s fooled the public into electing him.
I do not trust this man to keep one promise, much less all of them.
I get a bit acidulous about faith that isn’t what it ought to be... maybe a bit too acidulous.
I try the sweet talk sometimes, but sometimes the temptation is too much to paste the face pasters right back.
Three Hail Huckleberries, and a Cruz for Supreme Court.
Or morally wrong to let people die in the streets when the government can take care of everyone.
Clue, Donald. No one is dying in the streets, except maybe in Chicago.
I’m more interested in hearing you explain why Trump’s logic in 2012 about not deporting all the illegals was wrong. How did Trump get it so wrong back then? Was he just not thinking straight? Did he have too much coffee that morning? Did he have a bigger need for cheap labor back then? Did an even richer donor buy him off?
I still want a printed transcript of Trump’s remarks at the debate.
LOL.
Fun reading.
Donald Trump =establishment AND RINO
He’s addressed many a contemporary concern with a verve that has Cruz and others playing catch-up.
Yeah there is a “chance” he might fail. Keep in mind that Cruz can’t cram anything past Congress that they utterly refuse, either.
LOL...because when it all comes down to it, the guy is just plain overra-TED.
The Trumpers are jumping on 2012 like it was a time machine and going back 50 years.
2012 was almost yesterday.
What’s wrong with you people. He will disappoint you so much and don’t come crying to us.
What’s interesting is Trump states the same moral argument for “compassion” related to not deporting people in 2012 as he does now about taking care of people with government health care. So he still feels that way about health care, but not about illegals.
As Dennis Prager says, compassion is the root of all stupid liberal policies. Or something like that.
Well it was fun while it las-TED.
“Who cares about a video from 2012? Has he said anything at all about immigration recently?”
So 2012 is not recently...when Trump blasted Romney for being too tough on immigration, blamed it for his loss, and pushed the GOP to adopt ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ to improve its standing with “Hispanics and Asians.” What about how he continued to support it all the way up until June 2015, until he decided he would run for the Republican nomination for President and switched his marketing campaign?

http://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/trump-backed-amnesty-for-illegals-as-recently-as-june/
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Donald-Trump-Ronald-Kessler/2012/11/26/id/465363/
So based on your standard, Trump should get a pass all the way up until June 2015, and also get a pass for pushing the GOP a few years ago to adopt “comprehensive immigration reform” because that was too long ago...so Rubio gets a pass for Gang of 8? That was back during the same time period when Trump was pushing that kind of a policy for the GOP to improve its image. Or Rubio doesn’t get a pass for it but Trump does because Trump is Trump?
So it’s okay for Trump to have a horrible stance on immigration 4 years ago.
How long ago does it have to be before you take it seriously?
2013?
2014?
This is a deal, mon.
