Yet your candidate has done some things that would give any reasonable person pause.

Rather than insult Trump fans you might try understanding their point of view and taking the time to explain yours than cast insults.

Here is the reality: This election could work out very well for the republicans if Trump and Cruz can find a way to unite.

That might start with the fans of the two respective sides backing away from invective and trying to see the other side. I can see why Cruz fans do not like Trump, do not trust him or want to vote for him. All granted.

By the same token there are equally valid, if different reasons for folks to be suspicious of Cruz. It all depends on which issues this election are more important to you.

On this election the right is going to have to unite, and that means giving Trumps ~40 % of primary voters and Cruz’s ~30 % of primary voters something to make them want to vote. That means a combined ticket.

Anything else is suicide of the right.

I didn't think that I would need a /sarc tag with that post but you Trumpets are such dullards that I'll grudgingly add whatever caveats are necessary in future posts to keep you knuckle draggers from frothing at the mouth and kicking your dogs.

Yeah, right. Sarcasm. Now you're going to lie about it. Oh well, may as well since the statement is indefensible.

Take off your tin-foil hat and live in the real world.

There is no conspiracy between MM and Ted Cruz. ...you guys crack me up.

You sound like that nut-job 'rassler/Governor Jesse Ventura.

Trump will be 70 this year. That means he will be 74 in 2020. He might not even make it to that age.

Ronald Reagan was almost 70 when first inaugurated and almost 78 when he left office.

I do not think he would want to run again in 2020...

That would be quitting, wouldn't it?

Besides, there is zero chance of a Trump/Cruz ticket.

“Lord’s point is that those who denounce Trump for his past are selective in how they apply that standard.”

My point was that in general that doe apply just not for Cruz. He’s the only one that is a conservative and he’s
the only one in the running on both sides that doesn’t get
a pass. Trump is no conservative, any comparison to Reagan
is moot.

Cruz is a long shot to win the primary. I wouldn’t begin to speculate now.

Was Reagan a conservative when he supported Harry Truman?

Lyndon Johnson brings to mind a lot of things, but Old Southern WASP while technically true isn’t one of them.

IF you had described him as a megalomaniac liberal who makes Hillary Clinton look honest by comparison then I’d have been nodding my head in agreement. People today think that Obama is the worst President in history, but then most of them aren’t old enough to remember LBJ.

I agree with you 100% about who LBJ truly was, I was speaking of perception for the election, who he was supposed to be I suppose.

Point well taken. I just didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to micturate on Lyndon Johnson.

Thanks for the 'advice', noobie, but in your short time here you've bound to have read a few Trump/Cruz threads and noted the anger in the postings of the Trumpets. They follow their leader. It's what they do. Reasoning with them is futile.

How naive are you? Do you really think Cruz should join with Trump? If you were Cruz would you join with Trump after all the low down crap that he's done?

The Republicans committed suicide in 2012 and piled more dirt on the coffin in 2014. Right now they're a zombie party and even if Trump or Cruz is elected there won't be a noticeable change in the cesspool called Washington, DC. That's just a fact.

But you just keep on HOPING for CHANGE there, noobie..........................

Yeah, right. Sarcasm. Now you're going to lie about it.

Your inability to comprehend the written word does not equate to me being a liar. But keep posting your childish dribble, Trumpet. It's quite entertaining.

“Was Reagan a conservative when he supported Harry Truman?”

I have to admit that’s a good point. I have always thought
Reagan was always conservative.

I’m impressed that you thought about that. It’s not FR standard procedure to ever concede a point. A habit which results in great bloodletting during the primaries.
