President Obama had delivered some version of this address at least nine times before a fact he made clear in Orlando on Thursday.
This time Obama, in remarks that were brief, blunt and starkly political, focused on what all of those killings had in common.
This was a president who was fed up. His goal was not to inspire, but to demand change.
Those who were killed and injured here were gunned down by a single killer with a powerful assault weapon, Obama said. The motives of this killer may have been different than the mass shooters in Aurora or Newtown. But the instruments of death were so similar.

On the other hand, I think the opposite is true: If people had guns, the terrorist would have been killed after firing his initial shots.
It will be a victory of ISIS if restricting firearm ownership is our nations response to the Orlando terror attack.
If we are not to blame all Mooslims for the actions of Omar Mateen, why is it OK to blame all gun owners for the actions of Omar Mateen?
“Soaring rhetoric?” That’s what they call 100% horse**** now?
Obama egged on gays and Obama egged on Muslims.
They finally managed to clash. So what does Obama blame. Guns.
This, like all others, is a President surrounded by guns. Guns which will NEVER be taken away.
Obama ‘demanding action’ at a gay bar.
Not long ago the media would have covered up for a politician doing that.
A thought experiment: imagine if every aspiring mass killer knew that he would be gunned down the moment he pulled out his weapon. How many mass killers would their be?
It's clear later that he had a Glock, or was reported, and another with loaded cartridges.
The reason I took note is I read about Sandy Hook, and there are unanswered questions which then got spun into a conspiracy. But the "assault" rifle was found in the trunk of the car later. There was film footage of it.
So maybe Lanza didn't take that into the school. He was pretty small to haul in an assault rifle, 2 handguns and ammo. Or a spare "assault" rifle or "long" gun in the trunk of his mother's car.
Which means a victory for their mulatto leader in the WH
It’s the Washington Post.
A more propaganda-laden hive of Anti-Americanism you will not find.
Really? And what were those motives, Obie? Can you say "Islamic terrorism"? Knew you couldn't.
I don’t think Chicago is fixable in the short term It’s a drug hub which accounts for some or most of it. Some are getting fed up and move out or the thugs go to where it’s easier living. Then they shoot up the new town. We’ve been dealing with that where I live. And lots of drugs. Almost everywhere now.
Fort Hood, San Bernadino and Orlando were all about Islam and jihad.
Mad Mo declared war on the rest of humanity in 622 A.D. and these guys are just following his example and his instructions in their book.
They have been at this for 1400 years, long before guns were invented. Most jihad victims are not killed with guns.
Barry is just using these events to disarm us.
He is ISIS and is taqiyya
On everything else, restricting Immigration, monitoring Muslims, profiling - the left says it is a victory for the Terrorists for us to alter our ways.
But when it comes to destroying a fundamental, Constitutional right - why that is wonderful and we should do it right away!
I bet that Obama did not mention the wonderful success he had with the Fast and Furious gunrunning to Mexico, that was designed to get the same result he is calling fof now.
Obama thinks if those guns were outlawed, Omar Mateen, the homosexual asian Democrat Muslim (not a straight white Republican Christian) would not have murdered 49 Americans.
hmmm.
I think Omar Mateen, the homosexual asian Democrat Muslim (not a straight white Republican Christian) would have found a different way to kill people....like those Chechen brothers did in Boston....(who were also ignored by the FBI).
Wouldn’t be a great victory for liberty and a blow to Obama and the left’s growing tyranny if he doesn’t get what he wants this time?
