The difference between this “ban” and NY’s unconstitutional SAFE (sic) Act is that in the Massachusetts action, the AG is illegally expanding the law without having it modified to support the expansion.

The SAFE (spit) Act is applied as written, even though it clearly is unconstitutional.

Quick! Divert ALL SHIPMENTS of new AR-15s to MASS to take advantage of the situation before the joke of a “law” goes into effect!

Thanks but really TMI.

My point was banning something simply makes it more desirable.

If you will remember, back in 1968 there was still a morality code in US released movies.
Then Bobby Kennedy was murdered and the media went into Hysterics.
They blamed...
comic books
guns
pulp magazines
TV shows
movies.

Comic books downplayed the violence.
Pulp fiction changed their lurid blood soaked covers.
Guns became “regulated”
TV shows like Gunsmoke, written for a mature audience but still safe for kids, were dumbed down to kiddie shows.

Movies: The industry said they would regulate themselves with a joke of a ratings system. G, M, R, X. Then G PG M R X! Then G GP PG-13 R NR!

HOT DIGGIDY DOG! THE HAYS CODE IS DEAD! If you gotem film them!
The result was movie scenes were reshot to add more sex and violence to get that R rating! Sex and violence became more explicit in all movies! The X rating became a come-on! (SO BOLD IT HAD TO BE RATED TRIPPLE XXX!)

Then they made trailers for the R rated movies, and aimed them at the young teen crowd who could not go and see them.

And it gets worse...

Yours was clear enough. I just think it's only accurate if the "banner" is considered ineffective in enforcing the ban.

When you're a Republican actor in today's Hollywood, the ban against you is very effective. When the state-run media turns on a performer or athletic coach as "ray-ciss," he becomes untouchable, not more desirable. The question is who in the culture is capable of enforcement at the time.

That's why I thought I needed to point out what made certain disapproved books and movies popular in the 1960s--it was a formerly credible ban in the presence of no currently effective retribution.

At the moment, things banned in Riyadh, Tehran, and Ankara don't sell well.

“sold more than 2,000 military-style rifles”

Just this statement alone makes them certifiably retarded. Is this style of rifle fully automatic? Nope

Does this style of rifle contain a 3 round burst option?
Nope

Does this style of world require a special license and extra background checks and special registration beyond the norm?
Nope, nope and nope..

But it looks oh so scary so it must be military.
The media ate truly mentally stunt full blown tards of a special order

Story from the Boston Globe, filled with the usual misuse of terms and clichés; meanwhile, the lesbian man-hater, Healey, gloats.

You need more magazines and ammo. A thousand rounds is not enough and there will be people needing normal capacity magazines when they may be hard to obtain.
