Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly passed away on Monday. She was 92.

Schlafly, the founder of Eagle Forum, rose to prominence in the 1960s when she wrote the book A Choice, Not an Echo, which sold more than three million copies. She was a leading voice of opposition against the Equal Rights Amendment, fighting to preserve traditional gender roles.

She wrote a total of 23 books, the most recent being an expanded edition of A Choice, Not an Echo. In March, Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for president.

Schafly was predeceased by her husband, John, and is survived by her six children.

Mentally she was always there.

I listened to her on the radio about a month ago. Her mind was sharp as ever.

I don’t know how she was physically though?

One of the true (and few) icons of real conservatism — WFB Jr, Goldwater, Reagan, Thatcher, Schlafly. Now they all are gone, and we’re left with a sea of phonies.

She looked really weak at the Republican convention; now she won’t know what happened in what would have been her final election. Blessings of peace to the large Schlafly family! No one worked harder over many years than she.

RIP, a great Lady whose intellect and talents will be sorely missed.

I am reminded of some fiasco that targeted her and her organization recently but can’t remember the details. I pray she had the foresight to make whatever arrangements necessary to protect her organization from whatever it was/is.

Of those five, Schlafly was by far the most dependable.

Nobody lives forever on the earth. When God takes away, God also gives. Wise people for a new generation are needed. I think it was unreasonable to ever expect America to be “Christian” as a whole — a common hope and expectation of people of Phyllis’ generation — and the attempt to do this only resulted in a combination of frustration and of cheapening of what being Christian was understood to mean.

She ran for Congress before Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mt. Everest, but apparently before Mrs. Bill got her name “Hillary”.

Really sorry to hear this. A remarkable woman!!

I’ve had the good fortune to hear her speak several times. A smart dedicated person! I had no idea she was in her nineties. She didn’t act it the last time I heard and saw her on TV.

RIP Mrs. Schlafly.
