Bid deal. I was called a scar-faced dike in basic. I have scars on my face and am Dutch. So...
I survived and was made stronger.
“they even get stress cards to hold up when things get to be too much.”
Please tell me that’s a joke.

> If you drive through an intersection red light and people are killed, can you be charged with manslaughter? Yes.

> This drill instructor clearly contributed to a situation that resulted in this recruit being killed.
Poor analogy.
No one made him jump from the third floor. He jumped over a railing to do so.
Did not find any picture of Funeral?
A blanket and a shower and a platoon
Sounds like this drill instructor has a real problem coping.
I’ll say it again.
If you have a reason to discharge a recruit, do it. Back it up with a reason. Stand behind your reason.
Don’t F with the recruits to the level they do something like this. It’s not going to end well for this instructor.
He was already under investigation, and this isn’t going to go away without HIM being drummed out.
He may be a good instructor in most instances. I can now think of two where he used incredibly poor judgment.
You have a recruit telling you he has throat problems, and you make him run the quad. This just moronic.
A DI friend said they had them in the early 90s. I do not know if they still do or if he was straight with me. I know for a fact the air force had them, as I saw them when I was at Lackland for a few days while in the Corps.
One the driver makes an unforced error...
Two the instructor made an unforced error...
Both actions resulted in a death(s).
There is an arrow beneath the picture of the recruit. It says one of two. Click on the right arrow and it will take you there, or some clever Freeper can post it.
Interesting, not sure I have ever saw a American Flag that wrinkled before, especially on a casket.
+1
Some of the attendees look like the Nation of Islam and boat people refugees from the Mediterranean.
Not to bring up an old subject, but has anyone found any military men who served under that fellow whose parents were made into heroes at the DNC? Kahn, I think?
Anyone who served with him come out and either affirm or deny his supposed heroic actions? Or have they already been warned to lay low and be quiet? Seems to ME if he had saved many lives then some of the men would come forward.
Maybe they have and I just haven’t seen the reports.
We didn’t have stress cards in the early 2000’s. At the same time though, it’s true that the wash racks were no longer used, so no scrubbing utilities and no hanging them on the line with tie ties. We had a large commercial washer and dryer in the utility room between the sink area and shitters. Recruits were assigned laundry duty, so we all had laundry numbers. Wool blankets, two flat sheets, and pillow case were sent off for washing.
This is what brings doubt on the idea that it was suicide.
My son went through PI in the mid 80s and nothing like that was mentioned.
He was there in Jun-July and his barracks was air-conditioned which horrified his father who was an old-school guy. Air conditioning was unheard of in the late 40s military——(or even late 40s homes).
Things certainly have changed.

“But like I said, cant tell the bad from the good.”
Yes we can. He said it himself: Muslim.
If the M word shows up anywhere in your self-description at any time then you are bad. And should be removed. From the mortal coil.
By whose law?
> the instructor made an unforced error...
The recruit ran to a door, opened it, and threw himself over a railing.
It happens to be the same one now under investigation for having tumbled the other recruit in the dryer, though. That seems strange.
I guess the idea was to push the recruit to the point where he would say something like “OK, I’m a terrorist. How can I scare you?”
