I have an idea, Mr Baldwin. You NFL types all stand for
the National Anthem to honor the many who sacrificed for
all of us and the fact that this nation has always stood
for improving itself. You will make your bosses happy,
not to mention the fans who buy over priced tickets and the
millions who purchase products advertised on game TV
broadcasts. You sincere and caring athletes can start and
maintain a fund to support the families of those killed
by the police. Personally I think you should include the
families of police officers violently killed in the line
of duty in order to smooth over some pissed off fans.

Meanwhile the Cowboys are covering for Dez Bryant missing his MRI to go out partying with Jay-Z, claiming he missed it, because he has “passion.”

Perhaps its time the NFL and the NBA proved they are not racists by applying strict Affirmative Action standards to their teams. All races should be represented according to their %’s in society.

Really...there is a lot to do in life other than sit and watch these highly paid, unpatriotic losers.

There was a time when sports had an element of sportsmanship and teams came from cities that wore their names. Now it's thugs, criminals and America haters owned by liberal elites with no more loyalty to their fans and cities than to their country.

To hell with them.

NFL 'teams' should be housed in prisons - draw their players from criminals there - AND games should be beamed to Las Vegas and professional gamblers. In short, the NFL needs to stop pretending and be who they really are...

Yes, I am still wearing my Cowboys t shirts because:

1 - The Cowboys wanted to wear decals on their helmets honoring the 5 murdered Dallas cops. Naturally, bad-hell said no. Should have done it anyway and paid the fine. Link to that story below.

http://freerepublic.com/focus/search?m=all;o=time;q=quick;s=cowboys

1 - This is from Snopes and I have seen the DMN story from which it was taken but there is a paywall for it.

“Although Jones didn’t actually deliver a fiery pre-game speech, he did say after the game that he was proud of his team for standing during the national anthem and disappointed in the players on other teams who didn’t:

“I got to give a big pat on the back to our entire team, our coaching staff, our entire organization,” Jones said. “We strongly, strongly support the flag. In every way, we support — it’s almost ridiculous to be saying it — the people that for generations and generations have given it all up so we can get out here and show off in front of millions of people on television. We respect that so much. That’s the real business.

“The forum of the NFL and the forum on television is a very significant thing. I’m for it being used in every way we can to support the great, great contributors in our society and that’s people that have supported America, the flag, and there’s no reason not to go all out right there. For anybody to use parts of that visibility to do otherwise is really disappointing.”

I haven’t seen and don’t expect to see any shenanigans from the Steelers. Rooney may have his issues with supporting Democrats, but he’s not a complete idiot.

Lets apply “Affirmative Action Laws” to the NFL, NBA & Congress!

You can add Dannon to the boycott, as in the official yogurt of the NFL.

Players are mere employees of each franchise. I am certain that each and every contract with a player has a clause that requires the player not to do anything to discredit the team in public. Any owner with the slightest bit of courage and patriotism - not to mention self-interest - will tell their players that “under Paragraph X of your contract, you are hereby required to stand in a respectful manner during the national anthem at every exhibition, regular season and post-season game. Failure to do so will result in appropriate penalties as set forth in the contract, and possible termination of the contract for breach of contract.”

Failure to do that by the owners, to show respect to the nation that has allowed them and their employees to live such good lives by standing for the national anthem, is reason enough for any sane and patriotic person to simply stop going to or watching any of their games. After all, football games are just GAMES.

A little bit of targeted boycotting of advertisers for the NFL by fans would send a stronger message.

You are exactly right, but dumbass black athletes, most college students and a good majority of the American public don’t understand that. They think they can say anything they want without any repercussions because we have “free speech”.

“The fans buy the merchandise.”

I’d like to see 10,000 or 50,000 people across the country went to Academy, Dick’s or some other national sporting goods chain, walked up to the checkout counter with a basket full of NFL products, then asked to speak to the manager...and then explained to him/her that you WERE going to buy all of this stuff, but decided not to do so because the NFL didn’t give a rat’s ass about the country that made it, its owners and players so wealthy.

Believe me, word would get back to the NFL.

YouTube videos of people burning already owned NFL merchandise would go viral - and send a message.

C’mon folks, the power is in OUR hands.

I’ve been a cowboy hater since they traded Hershel. I was a big fan of he and Danny White and the Cowboys prior to that. I have actively rooted against them for 20 plus years. Jerry Jones has been a blessing for all haters as he destroyed the team for nice it was successful over a petty jealously with his own coach.

But I’m wavering. He’s one of the few owners who recognizes that pissing on your fan base isn’t a good idea.

So screw up a national sporting goods store by being an asshole customer to make a point you can simply make by not buying the NFL crap in the first place...?

Guess you never worked retail...?

Seems to me that the absence of personal responsibility is gone....there is now a need to find someone or something to blame for any bad luck, or bad decision or shortcoming in ones life. That attitude kills motivation and the work ethic.

Jimmy Johnson famously cut LB John Roper for falling asleep during a meeting. A reporter asked, “what would you have done if Troy Aikman fell asleep?” Jimmy said, I would have walked over and nudged him awake.
