The power to appoint electors was given to State Legislatures. The fact that Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania (and 47 others) exercise their authority through the mechanism of allowing idiots to vote does not remove their authority in this matter.

I don’t think so. They aren’t on a short list of 3. They are on a lengthy list of possible judges that Trump put together well before the convention. This was his list as a candidate in response to people who were voting based just on the SCOTUS alone. He has made no such list public as president elect. Furthermore the MI Supreme Court has not decided to even take the case yet.

Ok just stop it right there. What momentum? In 5 days now or 6 days of WI recount Trump was UP 39 votes. Most of Detroits votes while counted, legally can’t get recounted because the numbers and the books don’t match. If there was a Clinton cushion, that is where it would have been. MI supremes have not taken the case yet. The legal system can only go so far. They can’t give her electors. That is up to the state Legislatures all republican held. ONE idiot elector is defecting and there is still time for Texas to replace him. Just stop thinking so negatively!

I thought Hillar..err..Stein pushing for a recount was to “ensure the integrity of the electoral process”.

Sooo, WTF does it matter if a MI SC Justice is on Trump’s list if they’re not trying to flip the election to she-who-must-not-be-named?

Plain as day. All of this is nothing BUT an attempt to flip the results, or it wouldn’t matter ONE IOTA if a MI Justice is on Trump’s SCOTUS list.

IANAL, but wouldn’t that point open the way to a finding that Stein does not have standing to make the argument about Trump's favorable inclination toward the justices in question?

And again, the fact that Trump won nationally - which Stein’s suit nominally does not contest, and which does not depend only on the Michigan result - implies that the justices in question are suitable for SCOTUS. And if suitable for SCOTUS, then suitable for a mere exercise in critiquing "the integrity of the electoral process”.

Now, full disclosure, I am pretty much a proud male chauvinist pig, and I really wasn’t that hot on the idea of a female president before these two, but now I’m really cool on the idea.
