I have completed exhaustive analysis of the disputed Trump crowd shot and the CNN gigapixel crowd shot. As much as it pains me to say, the two images match quite well and the disputed crowd shot is legitimate and represents the actual crowd size. There was no deception on the part of the media.
I have four decades of experience as an advertising photographer. I am qualified to make this kind of analysis.
As a Trump supporter and voter I think it does us a great disservice to not deal honestly with issues such as these. In this case even the President and his staff have it wrong, and it hurts all of us.

Twice I stood in the Washington Mall for a Cause. Twice I thought the numbers were WAY off, I had an engineer take steps, and count how many meters long and wide, and how many people stood in a sq meter. Maybe a few people stayed home thinking it would rain. MOST people who support Trump were at WORK. Not the welfare recipients free cell phone crowd that left litter at the Obama event.
We should all take a breath and stop playing the game on the other guy’s field. Why do we want to argue minutia? There are myriad reasons why the crowd MIGHT have been smaller in 2017 vs. 2013.
- The weather this year was bad. Who wants to stand in the rain for 5 hours?;
- DC is like the home stadium for the Redskins - the city voted 90%+ for Obama and Hillary. Heck, the Dems could have filled the mall with supporters that could WALK to the event!;
- Republicans were too busy working to attend;
But, you’re right, “who cares?”!! Regardless of crowd size, Trump won and is President. Anything else is small-ball, and we really shouldn’t indulge the left in their pettiness.

Another reason, the SRO rallies were local. Supporters could drive, maybe a free carry state.
A lot of us CCL refuse to visit slave states, especially considering how violent they are and have been for those of us wearing red caps.

I think what may be going on here is that Trump is fighting fire with fire. The Left’s use of language to create a desired reality by punishing and banishing anyone who says anything that counters the desired reality may be based on a theory of rhetoric. How do you counter that? As disturbing as this is, you may counter it by attacking language itself. The fallback position is to judge a person based on their actions, not their words.
I hate the casual use of the s-word. Why do people think it’s clever to drop references to excrement into conversation—among the most disgusting, repellent substances on earth?
Casual use of the s-word is vastly more offensive than casual use of the f-word.
Also a few differences from my observations. The seating and atanding areas were made smaller via fencing 2017 into smaller area. looks like fewer seats up front as well. My “at lunch local” said the perimeters were 4 blocks farther back this year than he has ever seen. i walked the entire perimeter and at 11:30 at the four gates around the washington monument there had to be about 4-5000 people in line outside very slow moving lines. Also, there were more people walking around on the outside not bothering to hassle with the security. just my thots from my lunch local and my observations on site and the video i took and the pictures i’ve seen. also, many people decided to stay away because they did not want to be hunted down by ferals. I chose to go and arm myself with blades, collapsible batons, and 5 canisters of pepper gel knowing i would not get inside security.
