Maybe AG Sessions should pull ALL the Evidence and Witnesses and Statements from this case and Begin FEDERAL FELONY CIVIL RIGHTS PROSECUTIONS for the ENTIRE GANG of Domestic Terrorists.

Jus what happened to George Zimmerman, except he was acquitted. This is why it’s essential to stay away from such affairs.

He was jumped and injured by these people in 2015. He probably now understands that the entire protest was a set up. Just for him.

BLM is a front. This is the operation that is responsible for the JULY 7-9 multiple city police ambushes / killings.

Something has been orchestrated around us.

The swamp is deep.

He was obviously in fear of losing his life — with good reason.

He had every right to take out the gun and keep those attacking him at bay.

In fact, the entire crowd should have been arrested for felony rioting and aggravated assault (flag poles or whatever they used = deadly weapons).

I was last stayed within Portland city limits in 2013 for the 38th Annual Military Vehicles Preservation Association Convention. We stayed in sort of a seedy motel near the horse racing track. It felt like an area that you wouldn’t want to leave valuables or a gun unattended in your car for very long, but it wasn’t particularly scary feeling. And the food at the Elmer’s Restaurant next door wasn’t too bad.

My wife normally puts on a display and does a presentation for the 8th Air Force Association for their 1st quarter meeting. We were actually scheduled for that event yesterday but had an unavoidable conflict come up.

There are a lot of good conservative people in Portland. Unfortunately, they are outnumbered by the leftist nutballs. Still Portland is not like East LA where if you get lost you can end up in some pretty scary situations.

One of my friends was telling me how he grew up in a scary inner city. So I asked him where that was. When he said Portland Oregon. I couldn’t help myself, I just started laughing. This was in the 1960s. But he told me stories of problems he faced growing up that most of us would not normally associate with Portland Oregon during that time period.

So they’ve legalized beatings and outlawed defending yourself if you’re white now, eh? It’s what they’ve always wanted. Now if the ferals do a home invasion it’s just best to take your medicine and hand over your goods too. Hmm make’m believe that. It’ll make for good target practice.

So if you point ONE gun at TEN assailants you get charged with TEN counts each of two separate crimes? Plus one extra just in case.
Nuts.
But maybe we can make this work for us, next time someone calls for killing cops, charge him with 900,000 counts of unlawful threats, 900,000 counts of intimidation and finally one count of incitement to violence.
(Or however many cops there are in the US.)

Careful or you’ll get charged by Portland for 21 counts of accessory after the fact for posting that, and we’ll all get charged with 21 counts for reading it.

Thanks to Chode for posting the YouTube video link. I was about to defend the reporter before I watched the video.

There is so much this reporter did wrong that I’m not surprised he was convicted in a cesspool like Portland. Where to start? First off I’m betting he lacked truly good legal counsel BEFORE he went to the demonstration as he lacks a knowledge of self defense laws and an awareness of local conditions. I think the fact that he’d been jumped before made him a bit paranoid, when it should have made him smarter. I didn’t see anything he was facing that warranted a draw or even the need to reveal that he was armed. Think George Zimmerman here. He shot an unarmed man and walked because of disparity of force. If you don’t know about disparity of force, Google for Massad Ayoob and disparity of force. He has an excellent account of why Zimmerman was (rightly) found not guilty.

Next, he should be wearing a balaclava, just like everyone else who is hiding their face. He’d never have even been arrested if he’d covered up. He’s a known provocateur to these protesters so why in the heck is he making himself a glaring target?? These protesters all carry backpacks because they have a change of clothes in them. Do some filming and if you get too much attention, dart out, change outer clothes and come back if you must. But why reveal your face? The constitution and free press are nice when you are in your living room, but if you have to mingle in a mob to make, your living, you have to make some compromises.

Next up is that he went alone, which is a big no no in a mob scene. The protesters respect numbers. If you don’t have burly friends to go with you, then hire some. Go to a local bar often enough to befriend the door staff. Those guys are always looking for side gigs to make extra cash (I used to work just such a job back in my younger days) and they are masters at dealing with obnoxious louts. Plus they don’t freak out if they start getting punched. Remember that most people never get in a fight for their entire adult life, so that if it does happen they have no idea how to act. Your average doorman gets into a scuffle every night and will really brawl about once a month. They are perfect guys for this stuff. If you can’t do that then don’t go.

Next is to have a non lethal option like pepper spray, an ASP or sap gloves. There is a reason cops carry a variety of force options, so they don’t have to just draw down on some ghetto rat who is screaming in their face.

Next is to have a body camera on, so you have an eyewitness view. Again, if you can’t afford it then don’t go. He’s carrying some contraption of a camera on a selfie stick that he can’t put way a to make himself mobile or able to defend himself, which he must to be able to do because he’s alone. See my comment above on why not to go alone. His camera should be mounted on a jo stick. If things look start looking hairy, take the camera off the jo and put it in a backpack so you can use the jo if needed. If you don’t know what a jo is or how effective they are, look for YouTube videos and get training at a local aikido dojo.

This guy stands around chatting with reporters and has ZERO situational awareness, which is why at about 3:30 into the YouTube video, the guy with the gray hoodie and backpack is able to circle around him and sucker punch him. Absolutely unbelievable.

Better yet is 4:50 into the vid where the protester in the blue sweater says “I could have disarmed you” and he’s right, because this tool reporter isn’t wearing a security holster. He’s going to a mob scene wearing a $9 uncle mike’s IWB holster!! Frankly at this point I’m thinking he’s lucky he wasn’t disarmed and killed.

If you have to draw, LEAVE THE SCENE (run Forrest, run!!). If he was so afraid for his life that he had to threaten lethal force, why in God’s name is he STILL standing around with the very same group of dirtbags, any one of whom could have tackled him and taken his gun? Do you think you’re going to pull a gun and tame the crowd? People don’t like having a gun pointed at them, it makes them angry.

Had he been wearing a mask and immediately bolted after the drawdown, he’d be a free man.

He can appeal his conviction but there is no appeal from the grave, so he really got lucky here. Sorry, but this guy is too small, timid and nervous to wade alone into a mob.

Very sage advice, I hope it is heeded!

Something similar to this came up at the recent UC Berkely riots, where a woman and her husband were badly beaten. I think the husband was the guy rescued by MMA fighter Jake Sheilds, who had come out of a nearby restaurant. Anyhow, in a subsequent interview the woman said had thought there might be trouble and that both she and her husband were wearing Kevlar vests!!!

I was dumbfounded, because if you need Kevlar, you are going to need a weapon too, not just a vest. Those two wandered in with no weapons, no training and no security escort. Seriously, if you think you’ll need body armor and yet you carry nothing else, that means your plan is to get shot. In my mind, you need a better plan.

All I could think of is the immortal “Mall ninja” thread from the Glocktalk forum. It has been preserved here and is a hilarious read.

Yep. Your points are all absolutely correct. Too bad Michael didn’t have better counsel before the event. He HAS been beaten up before, & that’s why he came armed. I hope they can appeal this as overreach & get the sentence substantially reduced.

Kevlar vests for most riots in the US? Yeesh, if you need that type of protection stay home. Kevlar gives good protection against fire arms, but is known to be poor against edged weapons.

If you must go into the area I think SCA style gear would be better (if not available off the shelf), Coat of plates made from heavy barrel plastic, road sign aluminum or sole leather. When hidden under a loose light coat and with a padded jacket between the plates and your self it will provide solid protection against most weapons short of firearms. I like your suggestion about a jo staff, but think a cane or sword cane would make a good substitute. I will repeat the best option is to not be where these items are needed.

Top kek! I’ve seen the expression `mall ninja’.
Didn’t Black Sabbath write a song about fairies and boots?
