Had Hillary Won, Granholm And Not DeVos Would Be Prepping for Confirmation

A new report suggests that former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm would have been a top candidate for secretary of education in Hillary Clinton’s cabinet had the Democratic nominee won the presidential election.

Mike Allen of the recently launched news site Axios reported on Tuesday that Clinton had prepared her “ghost cabinet” list before Election Day. Granholm also was listed as the second choice for attorney general if sitting Attorney General Loretta Lynch were not retained by a Clinton administration.

John Sexton, former president of New York University and former board member of the Federal Reserve, was listed second as a choice for education secretary.

As governor of Michigan, Granholm signed the state’s law that responded to the federal “Race to the Top” law in 2010. The Michigan law required school districts to give merit pay to successful teachers. Granholm was governor when the Great Recession reduced state funding for schools, but federal funding temporarily grew at an unprecedented rate under the federal government’s stimulus spending.

After leaving office in 2011, Granholm became an adjunct professor at the University of California-Berkeley. In 2016, she was involved in two pro-Clinton super PACs, Priorities USA Action and Correct the Record. She was named to Clinton’s presidential transition team in August.

This isn't recent news, but it bears repeating. If Hillary had won, the cavalcade of leftards vying for senior administration positions would have eclipsed even the Obama administration.

Granholm and her constellation of mental midgets ruined Michigan's economy for eight straight years. When her term was over, she couldn't get out of Michigan fast enough to take a 'teaching' job at Cal-Berkeley.

Remember: Best.Election.Ever.

I note that once she no longer had power the Commie-babe Canuck could not get out of Michigan fast enough.

Yet one more job that skank is unqualified for. She is smack dab in my top five of politicians I absolutely despise. She destroyed Michigan and forced my family to move 600 miles for a new job. My house value plummeted and I ended up buying a house half the size.

I’m still in it because I don’t plan on remaining on the east coast for life and don’t want to go through the hassle of moving.

What a worthless pile of human debris.

One of her education “innovations” in Michigan was the “Michigan Promise”, which gave college money to students who graduated high school with high scores on an achievement test, and then continued through college with high enough grades to meet the standards. The money came from the tobacco settlement.

Guess what happened to the “Promise”? Even though the money was supposedly already funded by the settlement, it ran short and my son, who had qualified for the award, lost his in his final years of college because the state no longer had the money to fund its “Promise” to him.

Thanks, Jenn!

Now hold on just one second. Jennifer Granholm was born in Canada. The chance she would be confirmed were nil. Or at the least they should be.

Had Hillary won, all of her cabinet nominees would have been confirmed by the GOP controlled senate and in place a month ago, easy peasy.

Which is why Trump won.

Valuable lesson for your son.

NEVER believe promises from Democrats!

And the republicrats would be rushing it through.

With smiles on their faces and pontifications on how both sides of the isle can work together. Grahamnesty, McStain and the rest of the cheap labour express would be plotting general amnesty (and busy antiquing) as we speak.

Trump may have won the election, but the war has just begun.

If Shillery had won, all of her appointments would have been approved weeks ago!

This is the only election I can recall where anyone was still discussing who the loser would have appointed to the cabinet AFTER the election.

I wonder if McCain was really gonna go with Phill Gramm at Treasury.

And who would Goldwater have tapped for State?

You're right. But the consequences of her election would have been so frightening that pointing it out from time to time is beneficial.

Maybe Goldwater would’ve put Gov. George Wallace at State.

It’s curious to note that Goldwater was the last Republican nominee so viscerally reviled and opposed by the establishment until Trump (Reagan reached out to them). Goldwater would’ve had to go outside the party establishment (and the party, period) to assemble a Cabinet and government. The GOP was lacking for leadership so badly at that time, mostly infested with left-wingers in Governorships and Congress. If he had tried to put them in key positions, they would’ve been constantly seeking to undermine him (Rockefeller, Scranton, et al).

I was just imagining Goldwater winning and bringing in a GOP House and Walter Cronkite having a conniption while announcing it.
