Am I alone when I say that I don't give a crap if Assad used chemical weapons?

America has been excessively worrying about the lives of Arabs for what, 50 years? Longer?

Does anybody really care anymore about what happens to those people in that area of the world?

Has America gained anything (other than death, misery, terrorism, and loss of trillions of dollars) by meddling with those people over there for decades?

False Flag seems highly likely to me. Assad has no reason to go chemical when he is winning. Only people with motive to release chem weapons now are ISIS and other jihad groups who are losing.

The neo-cons, as planned, will try to use this hoax to advance the anti-Assad, pro-Islamist, pro-Erdogan agenda.

Assad helped kill US soldiers in Iraq per his partnership with Jihadists, daddy Assad helped kill 250 Marines. Assad has aided ISIS and bought their oil.

I was telling my girlfriend this morning that it was most likely a false flag engineered by Erdogan to help advance his agenda of topping Assad.

Erdogan has a toehold in Syria, but he’d like to go balls deep into Syria. Can’t do that with the Russians in Syria and Assad in power.

Erdogan is hoping to provoke a pity party in the West, so that the West will do the dirty work of removing Assad for him.

Actually, Syria’s long been known to possess chemical weapons and it’s also known to have accepted Iraq’s chemical weapons precursors and equipment when the Russians helped transport them to Syria in advance of the US invasion of Iraq [see Jack Shaw’s testimony]. The most likely explanation is the weapons are Syrian or Iraqi [and therefore Russian in origin] and they were used by the Syrian government which bought and paid for them in the first place, and the Russians would of course try to promote the idea that they are not responsible even though they certainly liked the money they took for selling the stuff.

I agree. Its false flag.

Obama’s policy was to back the Turks and Saudis, even if that meant getting in bed with Al Qaeda and ISIS. Almost none of the reporting coming out of Syria under Obama was true. Almost everything was mirror-image of the reporting.

The very same people who have mounted a slow-motion coup d’état against Trump here are still involved in the war there. They intend to drive a wedge between Trump and the Russians, preserve our relationship with Erdogan and his policies, and eventually drive Trump from office.

It will take quite a bit to convince me of any of this.

In any case, I agree with Trump’s original policy. Kill ISIS. Get out.

FWIW: Assad still has large quantities of Saran gas precursor chemicals he has refused to turn over. It ais possible that with all the shifting lines that anti-Assad or ISIS elements captured some quantity of these chemicals or as someone said a storage site was bombed.

Assad himself has nothing to gain by using gas and everything to lose. I would imagine that his use of gas would be large scale across a broad front, not just one building.

Who benefits? I find it hard to believe Assad would do this when he is already winning against ISIS/rebels. The ones who benefit from this are parties that want Assad out. This would include the neocons here, the Saudis, Turkey etc (ie. the folks supporting ISIS). Trump had it right about Syria when he was campaigning. Clinton/McCain/Obama/neocons/Soros (et al) had it wrong.

Has Trump been given bad intelligence to set the table? Why are we on such a hair trigger?

I agree, something not right here. As others pointed out there did not appear to be any reason for Syria to do this.

So until more info,

Um...how is that kid in the center dead? Looks to be faking it. In fact, the entire scene could be staged.

Although I have no first-hand information or access to it in this case, it wouldn't surprise me a bit. That very thing occurred in Sarajevo in 1994. Contrary to popular belief, the Muslim forces under Alija Izetbegović, the Bsnian Muslim leader, shelled the Markale marketplace in Sarajevo, killing 60-some people and wounding about 150. Although media reports attributed the shelling to Serbian forces, crater analysis done by a team of TURKISH artillery officers assigned to UNPROFOR concluded that ONLY the Muslim forces could have shelled that area of the marketplace; Serbian shells would have had to pass through buildings to shell the marketplace. The combined Indian, Swedish and French leadership of UNPROFOR chose to ignore the crater analysis and endorsed media reports.

Who gains by doing this. Sure a heck is not Assad. Assad/Russia are winning why would they do this? The only group that gains by this is the anti-Assad group. Yes they would do this to their own people to get support.
