I got tired of the lecturing and speechifying early in the program. Luckily, I was watcing a recording and fast-forwarded through most of it.

I recall that an earlier episode of Arrow (the CW) this season spent most of that episode on gun control, too.

I guess that is how the anti-gun lobby intends future attacks -- using full episodes of popular TV shows to present their lecturing and preaching on the topic.

AMC started a new series last year -- Into the Badlands. The opening commentary was laughable -- something like this: 'In a world where guns were totally banned years ago ...' What makes it laughable is that the weapons of choice are swords and knives. They show as much blood and carnage and killing as any show that allows guns. It is just a tad more up close with the swords and knives.

Ironically, knives seem to be the weapons of choice by certain self-made terrorists in parts of Europe, Africa and North America. Some locales already have anti-knife legislation on their books. The terrorists seem to ignore it, however.

But since I have found it preachy treacle.

TV in the 1950s and 1960s was just fine with adult oriented shows on at 9 PM. They were still safe for children to watch.
Then Bobby Kennedy was murdered and America went into hysterics.
The news media blamed TV show “violence” which was very mild at that time. So TV shows were “dumbed down” to kiddie shows.
Comic books were dumbed down. Pulp fiction removed their lurid blood soaked covers. Gun laws were passed that did nothing.
Movies on TV were butchered to remove “violence”.

But the movie industry said they would “police themselves” with a joke of a ratings system. They then began to turn out the most blood soaked movies they could. Mild movies were reshot to add more sex and blood to get the coveted “R” rating.
Today’s movies and TV shows are now so violent they would have never been on TV back in the 1960s.

I remember when PSYCHO was going to be shown on TV for the first time. The TV execs were so nervous about it that it was pulled at the last minute and another “safe” movie shown in it’s place.

Same for SPARATACUS the series. I never watched it after the first show, but once while channel surfing I came upon it again with a HOT ORGY SCENE! WOW! Then when they had your attention they suddenly cut to two men getting it on.
I could not hit the Off button fast enough.

Yeah, seems like ‘they’ MUST “insert” the gar-bage somewhere in the storyline. We watched “Allied” yesterday and BOOM! Sure enough, brad pitts character has a sister who is openly gay. During the bombing, in London in ‘42. WTH does that have to do with the storyline? Did it add anything at all to the plot? Uh, nope.

It is strange that an “independent” president is 100% aligned with a far left agenda.

On the arrow episode, they at least had some pro 2nd amendment points / characters without making them look evil / stupid. Not the case for designated survivor. The show needs to take note that scandal used to be very popular, but post abortion to the tune of silent night... lost a lot of viewers. I know I never watched that episode or any after it.

When people describe the leftist tilt of these shows, they need to understand they are just an extension of MSNBCNN - in a different format, often with a different audience, but with the same goals.

Young people may seem like a hopeless lot, but thankfully they (in my experience) watch almost no regular television programming. I believe this is why Dems need to control the internet; without it Hillary would have cruised to victory.

Only ever saw a promo for the show but I gotta guess it had nothing to do with the religion of pieces. I could be wrong since, like I said I’ve never seen it. It appears that there are some on here who have watched it. Maybe they know. Then again, do I really care since I’ll never see it anyway? LOL!

No. I have a TiVo and it has a skip-commercials feature for many networks/cable channels. I use it frequently.

Gotta wonder if this was written and “in the can” before Trump’s victory. I noticed the little bits of propaganda in earlier episodes, but it seems the Hollywood writers just can’t help themselves.

That's a pretty good bet - and Hollywood has been trying to prime the pump for leftist causes for decades. For candidates, too - witness the idealized version of Hillary presented in "Madam Secretary".
