As Brandon Turbeville concludes, the trail of documentation and the manner in which the overarching agenda of world hegemony on the behalf of corporate-financier interests have continued apace regardless of party and seamlessly through Republican and Democrat administrations serves to prove that changing parties and personalities do nothing to stop the onslaught of imperialism, war, and destruction being waged across the world today and in earnest ever since 2001. Wow. A second hand assessment by Tyler Durden of his one liner assessment of Brandon Turbeville’s conclusion on something the CIA reveals 34 years later in the midst of everything I personally would consider lies at this point.
You can’t get any more connected and up to date than this, folks. Seriously, this is getting close to the adage that “you have sex with everyone your partner did.”
Even as far back as 1983, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s father, Hafez Assad, was viewed as a gadfly to the plans of Western imperialists seeking to weaken both the Iraqis and the Iranians and extend hegemony over the Middle East and Persia. The document shows that Assad and hence Syria represented a resistance to Western imperialism, a threat to Israel, and that Assad himself was well aware of the game the United States, Israel, and other members of the Western imperialist coalition were trying to play against him. The report reads,
Syria continues to maintain a hammerlock on two key U.S. interests in the Middle East:
— Syrian refusal to withdraw its troops from Lebanon ensures Israeli occupation in the south;
— Syrian closure of the Iraqi pipeline has been a key factor in bringing Iraq to its financial knees, impelling it towards dangerous internationalization of the war in the Gulf
Diplomatic initiatives to date have had little effect on Assad who has so far correctly calculated the play of forces in the area and concluded that they are only weakly arrayed against him. If the U.S. is to rein in Syria’s spoiling role, it can only do so through exertion of real muscle which will pose a vital threat to Assad’s position and power.

The Druse leader threatened retaliation against American civilians in Lebanon if the Navy continued shelling Druse villages.
BEIRUT, Lebanon, Feb. 8 - The United States battleship New Jersey bombarded Druse and Syrian gun batteries in Lebanon for more than nine hours today in the heaviest and most sustained American military action since the marines arrived here 16 months ago.
The gunfire was directed at targets ‘’in Syrian-controlled Lebanon which have been firing on the city of Beirut,’’ a Marine spokesman, Maj. Dennis Brooks, said. The shells fired into the capital had landed in Christian-dominated East Beirut, several miles from the Marine compound at Beirut International Airport.
In Washington, the Pentagon said the destroyer Caron joined in the bombardment, firing more than 300 five-inch shells. It said the New Jersey fired more than 250 16-inch shells.
According to the Lebanese Christian Phalangist radio, the American bombardment pounded artillery and missile batteries from Shuweifat, just south of Beirut, all the way to around Shtaura, 22 miles east of the capital. The radio said 30 Druse and Syrian gun batteries had been knocked out along with a Druse military command post.

Real plans ready to be put into place or just part of the CIA’s continuing work? The DOD has war plans for fighting just about any country on Earth, both to be prepared and to keep their war planners in practice. Similarly I expect the CIA has plans to destabilize and overthrow every country’s government. Since Syria was a pain in our butt in the 1980s so they would be high on both the invade and destablize lists.
