Disguising acts of cruelty as acts of kindness is a feature of virtually every policy position of the secular progressive left.
= = =
And this left demonizes and criminalizes real acts of kindness.

I like the riverbank analogy. And any dime-store psychologist will tell you that rewarding a certain behavior tends to reinforce that behavior, while punishing it is a disincentive.
Logic just seems to escape liberals. It interferes with their smug sense of self-worth and tarnishes their presumptive status as saviors of mankind. The truth is, they're mankind's greatest enemies.

The real question is how those people isolate themselves form everyone who will say, “Are you nuts?” “I never heard such hogwash in my life”. I wouldn’t be able to help myself, the words would just rise up.
If I was in a class I would have better self control but in a public setting no way. At the very least my facial expression would give me away. The faculty at most universities are carefully picked and mentally handicapped.

Gen 2:16 But the LORD God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden
Gen 2:17 except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
And we right in the garden eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil where we decide what is good and what is evil.

Guess what Mike, Christ is worth taking seriously after all.
These modern “liberals” (scare quotes purposed) are illiberal because their good intentions have been hijacked by Satan.
This is a lost-soul problem that no amount of policing can fix.

The riverbank analogy is the real take home point, elegantly packaged.
I get so incensed at the slovenly thinking of the author’s examples of liberal dogma it takes me a few minutes to appreciate the more analytical aspects of yet another spot on article.

What happens when you pay people to have children out of wedlock? Hint: The answer is that people have children out of wedlock. Thats pretty obvious.Whatever you subsidize; you get more of.

Thanks for the ping Kaslin.
From Mike's excellent article:
... compassion is when we jump into a river in order to save drowning children. In contrast, justice is when we take a walk upstream with our shotgun to find out who keeps throwing our children in the river.
Stunningly cogent. Outstanding.

Cruel to Be Kind
Oh I can’t take another heartache
Though you say you’re my friend, I’m at my wit’s end
You say your love is bonafide, but that don’t coincide
With the things that you do
And when I ask you to be nice, you say
You’ve gotta be cruel to be kind, in the right measure
Cruel to be kind, it’s a very good sign
Cruel to be kind, means that I love you baby
(You’ve gotta be cruel)
You gotta be cruel to be kind
Well I do my best to understand dear
But you still mystify and I want to know why
I pick myself up off the ground
To have you knock me back down again and again
And when I ask you to explain, you say
You’ve gotta be cruel to be kind, in the right measure
Cruel to be kind, it’s a very good sign
Cruel to be kind, means that I love you baby

Makes sense it would be from Texas:
A friend from Texas once explained to me the true meaning of compassion. In the process, he also explained the difference between compassion and justice. He said that compassion is when we jump into a river in order to save drowning children. In contrast, justice is when we take a walk upstream with our shotgun to find out who keeps throwing our children in the river.
