Opinion: Jeff Sessions is in deep trouble, and here's why
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | May 12, 2017 | by Jennifer Rubin, The Washington Post

Posted on 05/12/2017 9:03:53 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation.

He said in his written recusal released on March 2. "Having concluded those meetings today, I have decided to recuse myself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States."

Any existing or future investigations. Related in any way.

Sessions consulted with the president and coordinated the firing of James Comey. Recall that Comey had testified on March 20 that he was heading the Russia investigation:

"I've been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia's efforts."

That is the investigation that Sessions promised to stay away from. Firing the man heading the investigation -- especially if Sessions knew that the reason was not the one stated in Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein's May 9 memo -- is a matter "arising from the campaigns for President of the United States."

Sessions may have some explanation for why he chose to participate in the firing of Comey. But the attorney general may now be in considerable legal peril.

As usual, the San Francisco Cornhole is missing a few facts. Technically, Comey reported to Rosenstein and Trump fired him.

The press can say what it wants like it usually does, but only the idiot’s will agree.

“I have decided to recuse myself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States.”

If Sessions has not taken any part in participating in the investigations himself, he has kept his word. The fact that Sessions may have been consulted by the President about the advisability of firing Comey does not violate Sessions’s recusal. He did not “investigate” by his advice to the President. Sessions may have been in favor of firing Comey due to a variety of reasons, including Comey’s incompetence displayed in the Hillary Clinton investigation. But nothing has come to light indicating that Session is involved in investigating anything pertaining to the campaign.

Sorry, JenRub, but you are, as usual, wrong.

There is so much BS in the Compost, you would only have to compost it for a half of an hour before using it to fertilize plants.

Did the IG release his conclusions? If so, I missed it.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation.

Which he should not have done. Going on to then recommend that Comey be kept on would have been compounding the original mistake with another big mistake. Ruben is grasping at straws - Sessions is fine.

Interesting how the Narrative is always controlled by the psychopathic sodomites. Why doesn’t Sessions just Lie and Lie and Lie and say Up is Down and Boys can be Girls, , since that is the M.O. of the sodomite Leftists where lying is GREAT and GOOD and promoted in our so-called “Justice” (virtue) System, which celebrates and pushes the Satanic vices of sodomy and baby-killing in schools and in our “Just” (lol) “Laws” now?

Justice John Marshall stated that all “evil” law was “null and void” and it is the DUTY of everyone, esp. judges, to eject all “evil” law. Hmmmmmmm. How can irrational “homosexual” “marriage’ exist?????? it is an oxymoron and removes Right Reason and “Justice” (virtue) and Natural Law (Objective Truth (God)) from our “Justice” (virtue) System.

Why do we allow evil sodomites to force their evil, satanic worldview (religion) on our children through their movies and control of Common Core which is unconstitutional?

It is ALL unconstitutional to allow “laws” and monopolies to destroy “public virtue” in our children. Vice embeds ignorance and slavery in the masses (Socrates/Founders) and we allow the evil sodomite perverts like Billy Ayers to develop the curricula to brainwash and destroy agency in our children.

Time to wake up, America. Take your children OUT of the evil system until is is back into local control-—all of it, including health “care” which is totally controlled by Malthusian, sodomite, psychopaths (Mentally ill, incestuous Rothschild Deep State who are determined to wipe Christianity (Age of Reason) off the face of the map.

RE:”Sessions may have some explanation for why he chose to participate in the firing of Comey. But the attorney general may now be in considerable legal peril.
.....
The problem for Sessions (as it is for Trump) is legal as well. This returns to whether firing Comey constituted obstruction of justice.
.....
While ordinarily one might find this hard to prove, here we have overwhelming evidence that the reason for the firing was not his handling of the Hillary Clinton email matter. Saying it was not about Russia constitutes a lie, part of an effort to interfere with the investigation. Firing the lead investigator to slow the investigation appears to be designed “to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper administration of the law under which any pending proceeding.”

Legal advise for giving the POTUS a recommendation?

Writer Jennifer Rubin, The Washington Post obviously had her head up her a$$.

Stupid is your post. Sessions should just de-recuse himself.

There is nothing illegal in doing so.
