That’s correct, as addictions main goal is to kill. “It” also does not care if you’re using or not as it takes innocents too such as drunk driving etc.
Her brother was interviewed recently and said she smoked.
I don’t get why they would have to be in her system for several days. She probably did them on the way to the airport or before leaving for the airport. She probably had a driver take her to the airport.
Someone used to doing drugs can appear normal or at least not that high to others. Whether she ever tried heroin when she was younger as she claims is anybody’s guess. Addicts lie.

I’m in the fold of ‘naïve’ too, having just seen this...
But, from what I can tell, it’s just a poor substitute for a dollar bill or other paraphernalia to snort cocaine. Something that you always have handy, if the straw or dollar bill is not available. Crude, but performs the function.
There was a pre-movie red carpet at Mann’s. I still remember how incoherent she was when interviewed. Completely gone. Embarrassing, I would think. No surprise about drugs after seeing her interview.

There is another Start Wars movie that I thought was interesting. Rogue One brings back Tarkin with an animated version of Peter Cushing playing him.
Cushing died in 1994.
I recall her doing an stage act about her life (on HBO I think) where she talked about her intro to drugs on SNL.
Recall her Star Wars beach satire on SNL she was once a very attractive woman in both face and body.
A shame and especially Debbie Reynolds having to see her daughter end this way.

She did do e-cigarettes which may no may not have the same adverse effects as tar or toxic gases. As far as the obvious adverse psychological effects, it is hard to speculate without more information. Wouldn’t drugs still be clearing out of the system even in an induced coma ? She should just have induced a manic episode. Those episodes probably do feel something like a large dose of Ecstasy or cocaine, only more transcendent, with something trippy on top...
By Hollywood standards, just a little buzz.
I asked my doctor once if he had anything that could help me lose weight.
His first response, kiddingly of course, was
“Cocaine”
So if Carrie was trying to lose weight, I’m sure Cocaine would help.
