Loving God,
You are so good to us. Sometimes we pause and think about all the times You have rescued us----times when we were aware of Your hand holding us back, and times when we were completely unaware of what You did to prevent total disaster in our lives. We remember those whom You brought into our path when we needed a friend or a helping hand. We simply marvel at Your love, Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your grace.
Lord, we are grateful for a President who knows that America’s healing and restoration must come from You. Thank You for his leadership in urging our nation to pray today for all those affected by the hurricane. Thank You for the amazing grace that You extend toward America.
We rejoice in knowing that You show that same grace toward our President, our first responders, and our men and women in the military. Many face dangers daily, and yet You are with them; Your right hand upholds them. Please continue to grant our President and Vice-President bountiful wisdom and discernment as they make difficult decisions on behalf of this nation.
Lord, may Your love and compassion continue to help Americans to reach out in generosity and aide to the people of Texas. Thank You for the selfless acts of heroism and the gifts of time, money, housing, and necessary goods that are being shared by this nation as well as others throughout the world. Lord, may Your Name be glorified as the floodwaters recede and the cleanup and rebuilding continue for months and years to come. Bless the new beginnings that will be taking place in so many lives.
Lord, please bring peace to our nation, to its people, and to our government. Restore our commitment to You. We cannot comprehend a time when our need for You has been more acute than right now. Good is being called evil; and evil, good. Give us a passion for the lost, and hasten the day of Your return as we daily help lead others to You. Bless Your people Israel, and may Your Name be glorified throughout this world because of the finished work of our Savior. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Got up very early this morning, and remembered it was the Day of Prayer.
And also remembered how fortunate we are to have a President who is not ashamed of the Lord and who would even declare a National Day of Prayer.
Thank You, Lord.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim September 3, 2017, as a National Day of Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Harvey and for our National Response and Recovery Efforts. We give thanks for the generosity and goodness of all those who have responded to the needs of their fellow Americans. I urge Americans of all faiths and religious traditions and backgrounds to offer prayers today for all those harmed by Hurricane Harvey, including people who have lost family members or been injured, those who have lost homes or other property, and our first responders, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and medical professionals leading the response and recovery efforts. Each of us, in our own way, may call upon our God for strength and comfort during this difficult time. I call on all Americans and houses of worship throughout the Nation to join in one voice of prayer, as we seek to uplift one another and assist those suffering from the consequences of this terrible storm.

Surely His salvation is near to those who reverence Him; our land will be filled with His glory.
Father God, we thank You for all of our blessings. We thank You for the blessing that is Your servant, President Trump. We thank You for surrounding him with prayer warriors.
Father God, on this day we especially lift up those in Texas and Louisiana who have been impacted by the hurricane. We ask for mercy.
We lift up the first responders, the Coast Guard, the National Guard and all who have helped, whether it is through donation or boots and boats on the ground.
Father God, this is an epic disaster, but we surrender to You, asking that this time be opportunity to magnify Your love, Your mercy and Your glory. If this is time for a revival of the Holy Spirit in this land, well Lord, we will take that too.
We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

Thank You Lord, that our President has the wisdom, the humility, the courage and the faith to lead this nation back into prayer. Thank You for surrounding him with Vice President Pence, Dr. Ben Carson, and other prayer warriors to guide his path. Lord, we ask that the number of those who receive You and love You be multiplied.

Just came back from 8am Mass. No mention of National Day of Prayer, no mention of Texas, no mention of our President, First Lady & all the heroes, no mention of the biblical flood, no mention or plea for donations, clothing, food, prayers, volunteers, nothing, not a peep. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.
Sorry, but I just had to vent.
