Breaking: Shots fired on London's Oxford Street with armed police on the scene

The Met police have confirmed they received reports of shots fired on Oxford Street this afternoon, as they were called to an incident at 16:38.

The Met added that officers were responding "as if the incident is terrorist related".

"At this stage police have not located any casualties," the statement said.

Oxford Street Underground station has been evacuated, according to the British Transport Police, with reports on Twitter of shoppers on Oxford Street running for cover.

Although I appreciated some coverage of the event, the cables spent seemingly hours repeating themselves over and over again long after it was known it was nothingburger news. Well, I got the house cleaned and a salad made for dinner during the tedious hours they were showing flashing squad car lights, people walking the sidewalks with their sale packages, and other exciting scenes.
