That’s only part of the solution. Rare earth minerals are rare indeed.

Natural gas...and hydrogen will be the fuels which will sustain us in all areas.

I sure wish I had a gas stove instead of electric. Also would prefer baseboard heating.

Simple, stop making it impossible to open mines here.

“If they have the material and nobody else does...”

We have the material. There are deposits of rare earth minerals in the West and Alaska. We just need to get at them without interference from environazis and dhimmiecrats.

No they are not. The problem is it is expensive to mine and Mill then here Condor to other countries.

Declare a national emergency and start drilling where needed immediately. Screw the permits. Drill baby drill. Maga.

Yes, they probably do but with our power we can just buy the stuff we need.

No reason to take the low road...

Makes sense. BTW, I used “material” because it is more generic, just in case some of the materials we were talking about were not minerals. :)

These domestic sources can be exploited, all that is lacking is the political will to do so.

In that sentence is what I completely overlooked. Thanks!

I, too, love gas cooking but really like radiant floor heat.

Preserving our own resources HAS served us well in that we still have them to mine for our own needs. They weren’t sold off to the rest of the world leaving us barefoot and naked.

The US has them. Obama used the EPA to make it illegal to mine them in the US. Leaving us dependent on China and Russia for them.

There’s no shortage of these materials, but the process to extract and refine them is complicated, expensive, and time-consuming. Without having our own functioning mines and processing plants we’ve susceptible to having the supply cut off with a long time lag between being cut off and getting our production up and working.

“with our power we can just buy the stuff we need.”

Until the Chinese, Russians or Ugandans decide we can’t buy any more, or decide a 1:1 trade gold for samarium is a reasonable price.

A large % comes from Africa and SE Asia countries, which are very poor.

Russia and the Chicoms have been looting these countries for decades. The ruling thugs get richer and the natives get beans if they are lucky.

The link below shows just the African countries with these resources.
