An elderly vicar who was dumped by his toy-boy husband weeks after buying him a flat has been left heartbroken after learning the 24-year-old Romanian model has already found a new boyfriend - called Jesus.

This case is definitely not an example of God’s sense of humor.
Vicar in a tutu.
All it would take is someone to report it. Under the laws, the report has to be investigated. If credible abuse exists, the elder person will be supported. This includes all matters financial.
Of course older folks can be defrauded...particularly when they're known to be compromised mentally or intellectually or when they're physically dependent on others (cancer, stroke, lung disease, etc). But lacking any such scenario I'll bet that it doesn't apply to *all* matters financial...and maybe even to *no* matters financial.IIRC the laws of this country recognize the right of older people to make decisions for themselves in most situations.
It does apply to all financial matters. Particularly signing over a $100k home. The elderly person does not have to accept help, particularly if they are found to be found of sound mind.
I'm not a lawyer. However, many years ago my departed Dad,then 85 years old, developed a brain disorder very similar to Alzheimer's.He was doing unwise things...including things that placed him in danger of serious injury *and* unwise things regarding his checkbook.Long story short,my oldest brother had to hire a lawyer and petition the state's Probate Courts to declare our Dad legally incompetent and to grant my brother "power" over our Dad's person and money. It took almost 2 years,a dozen (plus) court appearances complete with physicians' testimony and tens of thousands of dollars of expenses (lawyers, expert witnesses, etc) to get the declaration.
None of that makes me an expert on such issues but then,on what do you base *your* claims? If you have a law degree then I'm trumped (no pun intended).Otherwise....
Homeless & hell bound. What a shame.
Not Mexican...Spanish. The vicar is British, his former “husband” Romanian.
More faggots, effing up everything.
Yes but it hurt so good.
The UK is sick.
There are new laws now because of people taking advantage of elderly people. They are because of situations just like in this story where a man pretended to be in love with this older, exploitable man. Caretakers getting power of attorney, or abusing the finances of elderly people. Lot of things are now pursued under these newer laws.
1) These two perverts were,in the eyes of the law,"married".That makes for a much,*much* different scenario than one involving a "caretaker".I see no evidence here that little lover boy was in any way a "caretaker"...only a cute little bit of tail.
2) "Exploitable".I see nothing in this piece suggesting that the old perv was "compromised" in any way...physically *or* mentally...except,of course, being a pervert which isn't recognized in our courts as being a "disability".I see no evidence that the old perv was in any need of any kind of "care taking".My Aunt, for example, was as sharp as a tack and *completely* independent into her 90's.
If any court in this country were to intervene in this case all little lover boy would have to say is "We were in love,we got married,my husband was generous enough to give me a gift but we came to realize we were incompatible. This was a divorce caused by "irreconcilable differences" "
And that would be that.
I'd bet the clothes on my back that I'm correct here. However,if a lawyer weighs in and tells us that I'm substantially wrong and that you're substantially correct I promise to ship the clothes I'm now wearing to an address of your choice.
