Democrats plan MLK holiday ‘teach-ins’ to rally against Trump tax cuts

Congressional Democrats will hold a series of “teach-ins” to celebrate the Martin Luther King holiday, hoping to rally Americans against the GOP’s tax bill as they seek to regain their legislative footing.

After ending 2017 on defense, watching from the sidelines as the GOP approved a landmark tax code overhaul and repealed a major portion of Obamacare, Democrats are vowing to try to push their agenda in 2018.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who is slated to meet with top White House officials Wednesday, said she’ll pursue a series of “long-overdue, bipartisan priorities” for more spending, including the opioid epidemic, a bailout for some private pensions, additional disaster relief and government-run health programs.

Mrs. Pelosi also said Democrats still want to pass the Dream Act to grant citizenship rights to illegal immigrant “Dreamers.” That effort stalled late last year, causing Democrats to miss their self-imposed December deadline for action.

No, what Republican did MLK ever vote for? Maybe Eisenhower in 1956?

Here’s the problem. The victims don’t pay taxes to begin with, so a tax cut is meaningless. Seems like a loser in the game of victims and villains.

The stupid in these people is getting to be too much. If you don’t like your tax cut, we can keep it.

If money is not laundered to cronies for absurdly overpriced and ridiculously shoddy sevices the quality of which can be quadrupled for half the price in a fair market, then somehow the middle class suffers in some indefinable way

“I left off that Michael king lied and plagiarized”

Good listing of some of the real history of Michael King. This needs to be repeated with regularity because so-called news outlets will not touch it and all that is broadcast are the laudatory myths.

For those interested, a search of his religious views of King will reveal some pretty remarkable nonorthodoxies.

Keeping our money is bad according to the Dems, because they need our money to bribe blacks and Hispanics to vote Democrat.

The rats are really digging a deeper hole aren’t they? What an awful strategy.

The other day I met a guy with a 180 IQ. Has over 20 patents which brought millions of dollars for him. He’s the real deal. He thought W as a joke for the debt he created - Clinton left him a surplus. I didn’t ask his opinion of Obama but he seemed to think that Trump, despite his many errors when speaking about history or other facts, might stumble into being a good POTUS. He didn’t think much of the death tax repeal - too much money that won’t go against the 20 trillion debt. He thinks our education system is a shambles.

Pretty dang interesting to listen to someone with a brain like that.

Sorry Nancy. Teddy Kennedy said, "No more amnesties" in 1986. You can look it up if you want.

There is no such thing as bipartisan. Everything is partisan.

CIA, FBI, IRS, and the Congressional Budget Office.

Biparticism is when everyone agreed with the Democrats or enough fake Republicans voted with them.

Quite interesting about ol Mr King. Had heard his speech was plagiarized but not about the Chicom connection. Most were aware or suspected he had a pretty active sex life.

And now we got streets named for this character?

Did he own slaves or have some connection to Dixie ? That will do him in and probably mean we gotta take all the dang signs down.

As long as they are having a teach-in, maybe they could throw in some arithmetic and standard English too.

MLK was a Republican.

Nothing to brag about.

He was an adulterer, thief, a communist and frequented prostitutes.
