Hillary Clinton is the last person who should be talking about Trump's remarks on Haiti
Washington Examiner ^ | Jan 13, 2018 | Becket Adams

President Trump is drawing much-deserved criticism for reportedly referring to Haiti, El Salvador, and certain African nations as “shithole countries” when he met with lawmakers this week to discuss immigration protections.

The main thrust of the argument against the president’s remarks, which were reported first by the Washington Post and the New York Times, is not that he used naughty language, but that he suggested immigrants from poorer countries are somehow subpar to immigrants from wealthier, predominantly white countries.

There’s a lot that can be said against Trump’s tone. There's even more that can be said against his reported claim that people from poor, predominantly brown countries make for undesirable immigrants.

But let that criticism come from someone other than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Considering the Clinton Foundation's shady-as-hell conduct in Haiti following the disastrous 2010 earthquake, she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, would do well to spare us the righteous indignation.

“The anniversary of the devastating earthquake 8 years ago is a day to remember the tragedy, honor the resilient people of Haiti, & affirm America’s commitment to helping our neighbors,” Hillary Clinton’s Twitter account said Friday.

It added, “Instead, we‘re subjected to Trump’s ignorant, racist views of anyone who doesn’t look like him.”

This is rich coming from someone whose foundation did little to offer Haitian earthquake victims real, tangible aid, but a whole lot to assist donors with business interests in the country. Let's check the board:

From the Washington Examiner in 2015:

Nearly five years after a 7.0 magnitude quake killed hundreds of thousands of its citizens, Haiti’s recovery efforts remain muddled and confused, with the whereabouts of the billions of dollars pledged by the international community an apparent mystery to the country’s leaders. “We don’t know where the money has gone,” Raymond Joseph, former ambassador of Haiti to the U.S., said Friday in an interview on Bloomberg’s “Market Makers.” ... Joseph then recalled an event in 2012 when former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, the U.S. envoy to Haiti, personally attended the launch of an industrial park that promised to create hundreds of thousands of jobs for Haitians desperate for work. That industrial park today has created only a fraction of the jobs promised. “For example: The former Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, went down to Haiti in October 2012. Her husband was there and he was the U.S. Envoy to Haiti. The president of Haiti was there, all of the dignitaries were there, and they inaugurated the Caracol industrial park,” Joseph said. “That Caracol industrial park was supposed to bring in 20,000 jobs in five years and 65,000 eventually. Well, Caracol only has one big company there. It’s a Korean textile manufacturer and only 4,000 jobs. So, you know, I take Caracol as the real example of how bad things are,” he added.

From ABC News in 2016:

Bill and Hillary Clinton have hailed the factory churning out Old Navy sweatshirts in an industrial park here as a shining achievement in their efforts to rebuild this island nation after a destructive earthquake in 2010. But the garment factory has underdelivered on projected jobs. Haitian workers have accused managers of bullying and sexual harassment. And an ABC News investigation has found that after opening its factory in the Haitian industrial park — built with $400 million of global aid — the Korean firm became a Clinton Foundation donor and its owner invested in a startup company owned by Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff. ... The post-quake projects nurtured along with $10 billion in international relief and hefty support from the U.S. government and the Clinton Foundation have, at best, had mixed results, experts told ABC News. Several of those initiatives have benefited Clinton friends and foundation donors as much as Haitians, Johnston said.

That same ABC News article reported at the time that fewer than 1,500 homes had been built in the years after aid was initially pledged to Haiti. Interestingly enough, as housing relief for victims languished, the Clinton Foundation “facilitated” the construction of a “luxury hotel in Port-au-Prince, a Marriott owned by Denis O’Brien, who has given $10 million to $25 million to the Clinton Foundation.”

Because of course.

The New York Times in 2016:

Fewer than half the jobs promised at the industrial park, built after 366 farmers were evicted from their lands, have materialized. Many millions of dollars earmarked for relief efforts have yet to be spent. Mrs. Clinton’s brother Tony Rodham has turned up in business ventures on the island, setting off speculation about insider deals.

It seems that the only Clinton who grasped the magnitude of the foundation’s screw-up in Haiti was Chelsea, whose visit to the country in 2010 had her privately sounding the alarm.

The Clinton Foundation fell far, far short of its promise to the Haitian people. In some reports, the foundation actually did more harm than good. Many Haitians certainly seem to blame the Clintons for the stifled relief efforts.

Considering the foundation appeared to care about its benefactors' business interests in Haiti more than actual Haitians, and the fact that many people in that country hold the Clintons responsible for the bungled earthquake assistance, the former secretary of state might want to sit this one out. In this particular instance with Trump's "shithole" remark, let's leave the critical response to people who can’t say they made life more difficult for Haitian earthquake victims.

Clinton is a Ruling Class Global/Marxist criminal. She can say and do whatever she pleases without consequence.

That’s just the way it is in the fast-becoming-a-Third-World-s***hole United Socialist States of America.

Nothing can be done to "clean up" those s***holes. It's too late, that horse left the barn decades ago.

I have worked in companies where the top level people running them lived in a reality separate from the one where the rest of us resided. Because they lived in and dealt with a world that was imaginary, they would give directions based on what they thought was needed. These invariably clashed with what the real situation on the ground was and resulted in, on varying timetables, the destruction of the company. The time to destruction was proportional to how far away from the real reality the CEO’s view was.

Hillary sees a reality where she is all knowing and a god to the little people. If she decrees that something is so, then, it is so. She probably views herself as God’s gift to Haiti. Whatever she says to the press is, at least for that moment, a pronouncement from God’s lips.

America dodged a bullet this time.

If the FBI could ever get her to an on-record interview, a skilled interrogator could get her to indict herself. I think the people who interviewed her last time, not under oath and not recorded, knew exactly what they’d get and didn’t want the evidence around that would call their clemency judgment into question.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that, someone has pulled the President to the side and made him aware of her statements. In Oct 2016, he made a statement about it. Well, once again, she proves what a moron she really is. She potentially just opened up a YUGE Can o’ WhoopAss.

“If she decrees that something is so, then, it is so.”

this is the same crap thinking so many teach like oprah - in her golden globe speech trying to get people to think that speaking YOUR truth is the most powerful thing...

if someone’s a self absorbed person - like company heads you mention, their truth is only in their mind but not usually reality.

What a pile of crap! These “immigrants” are coming to the USA for the welfare, not for the opportunity to build a future.

They are the DC UniParty Underclass Refills.

EXACTLY. Especially what we know now from the book Clinton Cash, where they may have embezzled billions in relief aid to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake when the Clinton Foundation essentially took over all relief efforts.

Indeed, author J. K. Rowling, who applauded the efforts of a group of Harry Potter fans to provide aid to that country after the earthquake, is completely silent on what happened to that aid....

Herself and Slick, through the Clinton Crime Syndicate, took one of the most miserable hellholes on the planet - and made it even worse, essentially looting and setting up local autocrats to keep the poverty and subjugation of the people of Haiti in an ever-tightening noose.

Haiti was already incapable of self-governance and self-support, after years of “Papa Doc” and “Baby Doc”, then there were NO indigenous leaders capable of bringing a just and sound economic and cultural reform to the country. The island nation, shared with the Dominican Republic, was then hit with a series of natural disasters, only made worse by the exploitation by opportunistic outsiders, like Herself and Slick.

The “scoop” on Haiti from Judicial Watch blog:

Clintons Pushed Most Wasteful of U.S.-Funded Haiti Projects
https://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2013/07/clintons-pushed-most-wasteful-of-u-s-funded-haiti-projects/

Roughly half of the $1.14 billion that the U.S. government allocated to help Haiti recover from the 2010 earthquake has gone to wasteful projects with the single largest chunk—$170.3 million—going to a failed port and power plant adventure heavily promoted by Bill Clinton and the State Department under the leadership if his beloved wife.

Can you say scandal? The former president, who has been heavily involved in distributing Haiti earthquake reconstruction funds, pushed hard for the power plant and port for an industrial park in northern Haiti billed as the centerpiece of the United States’ effort to help the ravaged island nation rebuild. As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined her husband in the effort, making several trips to Haiti to promote the project and encourage foreigners to invest in it.

In fact, Bill and Hillary Clinton led a star-studded delegation last year to inaugurate the industrial park, located about 100 miles from Port-au-Prince, tied to the power plant and port. Hollywood actors, a famous fashion designer and a British business magnate joined the Clintons as did high-ranking Obama administration officials such as then Labor Secretary Hilda Solis.

Hillary delivered a heart-felt speech saying “we have been united behind a single goal – making investments in this country’s people and your infrastructure that help put Haiti finally on the path to broad-based economic growth with a more vibrant private sector and less dependence on foreign assistance. And we believe that our work here in Haiti and here in the north is beginning to show results.”

Not really, according to a federal audit of the $1.14 billion that Congress approved to help Haiti recover from the powerful earthquake that killed more than 200,000 and left over 1 million homeless. The probe was requested by a Florida congresswoman who chairs the House Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee because hundreds of millions have been spent in Haiti with virtually no accountability.

The investigation focused on $651 million that American taxpayers have given Haiti via the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) since 2010. The probe “reveals a troubling lack of progress and accountability,” according to the lawmaker who ordered it, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. “More than three years after the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010, we find that much of the assistance that the U.S. has provided Haiti for reconstruction efforts has suffered from ineffective stewardship on the part of USAID,” the veteran congresswoman says in a statement posted on her website.

The Clinton-backed power and port venture is the biggest and most expensive failure mentioned in the report. An astounding $170.3 million later, it is years behind schedule, lacks a qualified engineer and has unrealistic timeframes. As a result, planning has been hindered, the report says, and “funding will be insufficient to cover a majority of projected costs.” It will take an additional $117 to $189 million to complete it and it’s unclear whether the Haitian government will be able to find a private sector company willing to finance the remainder of the project.

That means Uncle Sam must come to the rescue or the $170.3 million already wasted on the project will be lost. Either way, U.S. taxpayers get screwed. Besides the scandalous, Clinton-backed power and port experiment, congressional investigators found mismanagement of a crucial housing plan that was supposed to accommodate up to 90,000 Haitians. USAID claims it will only be able to handle 3,200 to 15,900 people at nearly double the original cost of $59 million. That means the cost per house is nearly triple the original estimate, according to the report.

Back to the Clinton prominence in all things Haiti; the United Nations named the former commander-in-chief as a special envoy to the island and his Clinton Foundation has raised $34 million for Haiti since the catastrophic earthquake hit. Additionally, the former president has distributed $54.4 million from the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, which was launched shortly after the earthquake. The fund closed in December after distributing the last of the money and claims that it has “helped Haitians create a better future through smart, sustainable economic development” though it acknowledges that “much work remains to be done in Haiti.”

Combined with the U.S. government money and other charities that have raised huge sums for Haiti earthquake recovery, the island has received billions to rebuild. Yet three years later, news report after news report reveals that a large number of Haitians still live in deplorable, shanty town tent cities and an ongoing epidemic of cholera has claimed thousands of lives. Makes you wonder if someone is pocketing the money.
