The armed officer on duty...The school resource officer at the high school took up a position viewing the western entrance of the building that was under attack for more than 4 minutes, but "he never went in," Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said at a news conference...Israel said the deputy should have "went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer."

HARDLY..!!! Check him out:
And I hear his dad, Jeff Kasky, has something to do with *child trafficking*.
Oh, but junior has no trouble getting $500,000 from Oprah and $500,000 from George Clooney, huh..?
Needed a cigarette and it was a “no smoking” area so he had to finish it before he could go in.
Sounds like exactly what I had installed in the school district I worked in prior to retirement.
Everything was live and downloaded to our server farm as it happened.
Any incident on any school could be viewed live if necessary.
All stored CD footage included time and date stamp.
Managed to get our local PD 5 convictions with the information we recorded.
Of course recorded footage will not stop a crime, but it does give the cops, district attorney, and courts something to work with.
The only solution to these types of shootings is armed District employees.
Administrators, Teachers, Maintenance Workers, and if necessary custodians.
Maintenance workers of all trades (plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, glazers, painters, electronic techs, carpenters, etc.) are always on sites for repair and maintenance work.
And SURPRISE, most of them are MILITARY VETERANS, just as I was.
Broward County has found their fall guy, I see.
They lied about it to reporters a few days ago, according to earlier articles. They said that there was no armed school resource officer. Someone was probably about to say otherwise publicly, spurring the official release today.
there were 2 Police Ofticers FT at the school plus 5 FT security guards
I remember from a previous school massacre, seeing footage of the cops gathered around outside of the building while the shooting was going on inside.
Looking at PORN!!!
I see the keyword, “1moretime,” and recognize it from other posts before. That’s pretty funny. The news about the school resource officer was all over the Net very early after the news break with enormous numbers of hits in search engines.
Sadly your comment reminds me of the scene in the recent 15:17 movie where the young man stands by the door ready to confront the shooter with nothing more than a ball point pen and explains “I didn’t want word to get back to my family that I died hiding under a desk”
I have to give credit to the Sheriff for admitting the cretin deputy criminally neglected to perform his duty. The FBI, DOJ, DHS would have covered up until exposed by a Freeper or some other nosy person. He also suspended two other deputies while they are reviewing the tapes.

No one gets it yet. This was a live fire exercise.
Coward?
Or...
Perhaps under orders from on high to not intervene?
Yes, Jerry. Got it. Very moving. I have not yet seen the movie. Courage teaches courage. May God bless.
I find it interesting that a BOY of 15 years proved willing to do what a COP could not.
It was released. IIRC, it’s Scott Peterson, just like the guy in CA who killed his pregnant wife on Christmas Eve a decade or more ago. Of course, that’s a common name in the USA.

He was afraid of the gunfire. This involves duty to what the badge stands for. There is no discretion involved when rapid fire shots are coming from inside a schoolhouse. The overriding duty is to engage and stop the threat.Thats why police departments award medals of valor. Sometimes posthumously.
If anyone wants to wear a badge and does not have the intestinal fortitude and personal INITIATIVE to do their sworn duty to the citizens and face down an immediate threat to the public, they should resign. And thats what this coward did today
Obviously not a Marine.
