I can confirm what this gentleman is saying. I feel like a school teacher having to ask people to hand in their phones so that I know they are working. Otherwise, they are texting, on social media, or playing on their phones all day before complaining about wanting to be paid more money (for not working). It's sad, really!
This guy has got to be referring to the offspring of Liberal parents.
In our family our adult (30-ish) nieces and nephews hold positions as an RN, a Mechanic, an IT Guy, a City Manager, a Travel Guide, a Salon Owner, two Farmers (Dairy & Beef Cattle), a Pharmacist and a Dental Hygienist.
They’ll be just fine. :)
I have two millenials, one just graduated college with his MBA and a daughter who works full time and goes to school. While my daughter is politically on the fence, (liberal, but accepts the premise of conservatism). My son is a hardcore conservative.
A lot of it comes down to the values parents instill in their children. Raise them with values and a moral sense of purpose and they come out of college ready for the real world. Raise them to accept entitlement and what we have is a bunch of spoiled brats who go to a diner and ask for arugula.
I always get a little annoyed by articles where an older person is slamming younger kids for being lazy and entitled. Laziness and entitlement in under 25 year old kids is a learned behavior. They learned it from a system set up by adults. If you want kids to be responsible, teach them self sufficiency and personal responsibility. Make they pay the consequences for their bad decisions early in life. Make them realize that no one is going to take care of them when they are adults. Teach them that the government isn’t there to be a substitute mommy and daddy so that they don’t have to grow up and work.
Our schools and other institutions and even a lot of parents have taught these kids the wrong values. Or perhaps the parents weren’t there to teach the kids. So if Josh Harrison thinks that under 25s are lazy little s___ts, he needs to look in the mirror for who is to blame.
Is Mr. Harrison the “Mike Rowe” of England?
Not a fan of headhunters and have been independently consulting for quite some time now. When the calls were actually originating from the U.S. and not some call center in India, they usually went something like this...
20-something headhunter: “Hi! I have a position I believe you are the perfect fit for and I’m wondering if you’re available and would consider this terrific opportunity. But before we get into that, I have your resume here in front of me and tell me, what exactly is it that you do?...”

Bad grammar. Should be "we millennials are....".
When my son was in college a few years ago, I was stunned at the number of classmates who expected to get really rare high end jobs straight out of college. Their parents encourage this behavior. No wonder they think they’re too good for ordinary work.
It ain’t just the under-25’s. I see 55 year olds that are horribly unqualified holding top paid positions.
LOL. Excellent follow up.
