"... especially a shotgun at close range.”

With buckshot loads shotguns are used to kill deer at ranges up to 100 yards. There is a reason, that clearly escapes the minds of journalists, that it is called buckshot.

They won’t say much, if anything, about banning shotguns because that would wake up all the Fudds.

Another little known fact these propagandists avoid; double action revolvers fire a round every time the trigger is pulled as fast as you can pull the trigger. No different than semi-auto firearms.

That is literally what the left is telling people. I saw an interview with a woman who was absolutely certain that “AR” stood for “assault rifle”. When the “Armalite” name was explained to her, she shook her “No”, and walked off. She knew what she knew, and nothing was going to change that.

I’d hate to stare down the business end of either. However, if I had my shotgun and the other guy had an AR, I’d prefer my chances at 100 feet and in. In a classroom my odds are probably at 100% when I get to put 8 rounds in his chest within a 5-inch diameter and he gets to put one round in me.

Although from some article from the Parkland shooting, the guy with the AR would be able to run away from my slower moving shotgun pellets!

First hand knowledge, looking down a .22 with a cray cray ex holding it looks like a 16” tri mount off the New Jersey. YIKES! But, here I am. No holes.

Thank goodness! I'm guessing you were not the type to yell back at her “Oh - you don't have the GUTS to pull that trigger, you NEVER did anything yo-BANG!

Isn't that in all of the cop movies? “What type of gun was it ma'am? “Oh it was a BIG gun!! And Black!”

High-powered rifles such as the AR-15 can be fired more than twice as fast as most handguns.

The author is an idiot. It's obvious he's shot neither a 'high powered' AR15 rifle nor a handgun. AR15 rifles and semi-automatic handguns fire at the same rate: how fast can you pull the trigger?

A postscript to my previous post: with semi-automatic shotguns becoming more popular, soon they will be just as fast firing as rifles and semi-automatic handguns.

Oh Yes, I remember that impressive statement. “Safer guns” too. The Rush Limbaugh TV show was on about that time and the Joycelyn videos a weekly treat. That was a funny show.

BS and lies. I can fire several of my handguns every bit as fast as I can fire my AR-15. Oh...and an AR-15 is not a “high powered” rifle. It is quite low powered as rifles go. Your grandpappy’s 30-06 absolutely blows away a 5.56mm Nato standard round. So does the standard rifle round of EVERY major warring power in WWII a full 3 generations ago.

This is typical of the ignorant sensationalist crap we see in the media. One needs read no further than the first paragraph to see that the rest is not worth reading. The writer has no clue what he’s talking about.

Here’s a little hint, every firearm is based on a military design.
Since the Chinese invented gunpowder people have been designing weapons to use that gunpowder, to kill the people they perceived as their enemies.
Same goes for knives, axes, slingshots, clubs, etc.
Some toys are just easier to make than others.

At least he got one thing right:

The standard magazine for an AR-15 holds 30 rounds...

Actually, the standard magazine for an AR-15 is a twenty-round magazine.

The 30-round magazine is classified as an extended magazine.

Many shooters of the AR-15 will choose a 20-round magazine over the 30 round because the extra spring tension on the 30 round magazine causes more frequent jams or failures to feed.
