It’s all about positioning and posturing when doing these type of deals. President Trump is a master of negotiating contortions. Best said is just watch and learn......forget any Media “analysis.” They haven’t a clue.

Kim has long wanted to be important. He could be, now, by the grace of God through Donald Trump. Trump is magnanimous enough to give even a scalawag a chance to make good. I pray it works.

I thought that envelope might have contained some tasty buds — a truly poignant peace offering.

I would have invited them back for a private dinner with just my wife and Pompeos wife and a few diplomats- brought in the grandkids etc

It reminds me of the story of him elevating a doorman to a very successful higher position in his company.
Also think of all the experience he has dealing with the mob and unions thugs in NYC He knows how to deal with the worst of them

Yes he sees potential and is an encourager He certainly has experience mentoring people.
If anyone can do it OUR president has the background and skills
Pray that it is so!

Significant. The fifteen minute drop the letter by, turns into a two hour meeting.

Trump might have asked Kim if he’d like to get a Nobel peace prize, by giving up the nukes and the cultic police state. Giving him a way to walk away from hell.

Kim lived a life of wealth under an assumed name when going to school in Switzerland. He had a girl friend (his father made him give her up). He could travel the continent and lived a very free lifestyle. I imagine he misses it. Having to become the leader of the poorest country maybe on earth with many people out to get you is a living hell.
Survival of the meanest.
I’m certain anything they work out would be better.

There’s a book out years ago where the hero (while in Asia ) was given a beautifully decorated “love letter” manuscript declaring friendship from another character. Am wondering if this is what DJT received. If so it’s a great honor!

He needs a show of good relations between the U.S. and North Korea as much as Kim Jong Un does

Not so, ANGRIA!

In typical Trumpian fashion, he's placed himself in a no-lose situation.

” It will be nothing short of miraculous if this administration, with an inexperienced commander-in-chief and vacancies at almost every level of its diplomatic corps, can pull off what has never before been done.”

They think it's a flaw, when it's actually a feature.

They’re dreaming.

Most people may not know that Kim Jong-un went to school in Switzerland where he was well liked by his classmates. A chubby kid who participated in plays and loved basketball. He knows the West and very likely has long dreamed of liberating his inherited kingdom. He’s probably never been the evil power over there... he serves at the pleasure of the generals who are the power behind the scene... or were the power, if say something unfortunate happened to them. That part we don’t know, but someone on our side does.

Some things look easy when you're America's greatest tycoon.

We, the American people, are cashing in on Big Don's ability to wheel and deal.

Inflating Kim's ego to make it seem as though he is not "losing face" when he gives it all away. There is probably something relevant to this in The Art of the Deal.

If there is a peace treaty, the Nobel Peace Prize might be given to Kim, but they won't give it to Trump. Maybe to Pompeo or to Moon.

If there is no peace treaty, maybe their back-up nominee will be Bashar al-Assad.
