It is either gall, or desperation*, perhaps, to post this, but I think Rush is wrong, in a sense, about not exhorting his listeners to be strongly involved in elections. He says they need no encouragement to vote, which may be true. But, the problem is, we need them to do more than vote. We need them to drag along friends or relatives, man the phones, volunteer to help out, etc., all in the GOTV effort.
This may apply to some of us (FReepers) too. Many already help a lot, but some of us, myself included, need to do more.
*I think we will gain a couple Senate seats, but, the House is dicey...
If some people are still too ignorant to know they need to vote then they’re too ignorant to vote at all.
Everything that you wrote is perfectly right. If we do exactly as you said, we might win big. If we don’t, we’ll certainly lose big.
Democrats are telling us right here that we should refuse to vote, unless the President does this first.

First make sure they vote Republican.
Well, that clip is a bit extreme....
Given.
:-)
Yes, it is extreme. But that’s what many are demanding in comments in lieu of voting.
Rush has been partially or totally wrong with every election since 2008, when he decided that he’d unhorse Hillary with Operation Chaos. This was his plan wherein Republicans would crossover during open Democrat primaries to ensure that Barack Obama would be the Democrat candidate. He assumed that the Democrats would never vote for a black man over Hillary.
We all know what happened next.
Rush still hasn’t finished paying for *that* particular screwup IMHO.
I agree.
Get the vote as if we are behind. We cannot trust the polls. The media wants asleep and they will keep reinterpreting the information to try and make us think it is in the bag.
But how much influence did Rush really have on the Dem primaries? Maybe more a case of rejecting Hillary(can you blame them)?
I recall Rush goal was to prolong that Democrat primary. HRC had practically lost.
Rush Limbaugh: Operation Chaos A Success In Extending Nomination
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/06/rush-limbaugh-operation-c_n_100485.html
In late February 2008, Limbaugh announced “Operation Chaos,” a political call to action with the initial plan to have voters of the Republican Party temporarily cross over to vote in the Democratic primary and vote for Hillary Clinton, who at the time was in the midst of losing eleven straight primary contests to Barack Obama. Limbaugh has also cited the open primary process in the early primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, which allowed independent voters to cross over into the Republican primaries to choose John McCain over more conservative candidates (such as Fred Thompson), as an inspiration.

You can take your moms direct to the voting place with you, I do this for my mom every election!!!
Yes, I remember him talking about it. But how much effect did it really have? Despite the media propping her up, Dems really don’t like Hillary.
I have been in the car a lot lately, so tuning in some to talk radio. (How can people regularly stand all the ads?)
And I find Hannity’s repetitive hectoring about the need to vote and do just as you say too painful to keep listening to. It is just horrible radio.
So which works better? The softer touch or the harangue? I’d suggest the softer touch peppered with some short, occasional points as to the need to help get others out.
I think Rush has been working hard in his own way. His job is to inform and keep people coming back.
That’s it.
I’ve become incredibly impatient with radio hosts — it keeps getting worse every year — the contrast between them and the fast ride of this forum. Others undoubtedly feel the same way.
But these past few weeks Rush has worked a lot harder than normal. And if he starting shouting at everyone like a drill sergeant they’d turn him off in a heartbeat. I hate listening to ‘drill sergeant’ radio.
BUT ...
THANK GOD you care!
Thank GOD you are fired up!
i actually agree with you. Nagging is a big turn off.
“Rush is WRONG!”
Wash your mouth out with soap.
Rush did promote that disastrous idea . Rush needs to invite Desantis and Scott on his show .
I not only vote, I work the polls every election day.
More of us should do the same...
