President Trump's public support appears to be holding steady despite the partial government shutdown dragging on amid a stalemate over his demand for border wall funding.
Trump's approval rating in the Hill-HarrisX polls has been relatively steady since September, remaining between 45 percent and 48 percent.
"Despite a couple of polls being a little bit outside or perhaps a little bit of outliers, we've seen the president's approval rating generally consistent and in the low- to mid-forties," Mallory Newall, research director at Ipsos Public Affairs, said Friday during a panel discussion featured on Hill.TV's "What America's Thinking."

no polls on Chuck and Nancy?
Someone try to make me believe that poll doesn’t make the Rats a little nervous.
Withdraw more from the middle east and encourage more tribal infighting. Oil production goes down and the rest of the world comes to us. Trump’s plan.
My wife and I are both Federal Employee. She works for the Army and administers ASVAB tests
I am. Sr Engineer working on Propulsion Systems for the Mars Mission, assigned to NASA.
We are both personally affected by this Govt shut down; and we both support President Trump.
Build that wall.

Now that is some of the best news of the day.
That article was posted on FR here.
Unsourced crap like that drives me crazy.
His approval rating is high BECAUSE of the shutdown, not in spite of it.
Nice poll numbers, but FReepers either accept poll numbers, or not. Apparently, if the poll is pro-Trump, we accept it; if it’s anti-Trump, then we don’t. On an earlier thread, we rejected an anti-Trump poll. I realize that some polls are more statistically valid than others, but it makes us look like partisan dolts when we only accept the ones whose results we like. Better if we simply ignore them all, than to pick favorites. Just my two cents worth.
...dons flak helmet and hunkers down.
What’s so dramatic? Apparently the only people actually affected are federal workers who would never in a million years vote GOP anyway. Screw ‘em. Find a way to screw them more - as in no back pay, no credit towards retirement, etc. Make it as painful as possible - why not? These people are no friends of ours.
Yay.
The poll source is very important in judging credibility. Dunno about this source, but many, many other polling sources can be dismissed out of hand as goal-seeked garbage.
I am so grateful that there are Federal employees like you & your spouse who work for the government.
There. Fixed it.
