Bring on the bacon.

That’s the word from McDonald’s, which is set to add to bacon to three of its most-popular menu items. The Big Mac Bacon burger, Quarter Pounder Bacon burger and Cheesy Bacon Fries will debut for a limited time at participating restaurants on Jan. 30.

Bacon has long been a favorite delicacy among foodies. According to a news release, the tasty indulgence has been mentioned more than 17,000 times a day across U.S. online platforms since 2018. That’s 740 times an hour.

“People love bacon, and they love our iconic Big Mac, fresh beef Quarter Pounder burgers and world famous Fries, so we had to see what would happen if we combined all that tastiness,” said Chef Michael Haracz, McDonald’s Manager of Culinary Innovation.

“As a bacon enthusiast myself, I’m proud to say that we’ve done right by bacon fans and I can’t wait for our customers to try these Classics with delicious, thick cut Applewood smoked bacon for themselves.”

Here is a closer look at what McDonald’s customers can expect from the bacon-blasted offerings.

· Big Mac Bacon: A twist on the iconic fan-favorite’s 50-year history, three pieces of thick cut Applewood smoked bacon adorn two 100% all beef patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles, Special Sauce and onions on a sesame seed bun.

· Quarter Pounder Bacon: Three pieces of thick cut Applewood smoked bacon added to the hot and fresh beef burger cooked right when you order.

· Cheesy Bacon Fries: McDonald’s fries topped with real cheddar cheese sauce and smoked bacon bits.

I’d put pork in the McRib.

That’s a great idea! You should pitch that to them.
Remember White Castle and royal castle mini burgers?
They could sell them in 4 packs.

>>real cheddar cheese sauce Pass. Not that its something I indulge in often but the best cheese fries are made with a combo of yellow white cheese. Currently, Outback Steakhouse makes the best ones, at least around here. All cheddar is too greasy. "Sauce," whatever that means, is a always a non-starter.

What nearly killed their fry biz was taking out the small amount of lard in the cooking oil to satisfy the muznuts. Well, what do you think makes bacon taste so good? Hickory smoked lard whether in bacon or BBQ form always tastes good!

I had a McRib once. The bun was delicious. The pickles and onions were fresh and crispy. The sauce was tangy and tasty. The only thing wrong with it was that hunk of nasty looking mystery meat. It had no taste.

I wonder what it was?

They can keep those burgers of theirs but, by all means bring back the Triple stack McMuffins.

My favorite smokin dope riff. Pull up to the drive through speaker. “ I’ll have 27 tacos and a small coke”. Speaker says “ anyone else with you want something to drink?” Self “ain’t no one with me”. Macdonald’s will kill it in Colorado.

I can eat a regular McD hamburger in one bite which made my son, who was 8 at the time, laugh and laugh.

Big Mac’s are too bloated with calories which is why I never get them.

Big Macs are only 540 calories, which is pretty reasonable. Burger King's Whopper, by comparison, is over 1000 calories and the Big Mac is equivalent to a Wendy's single burger. I still opt for the Whopper.

They already have it in Russia. What's taking the US so long?

I hope they come to Vietnam. I am reading this from a McDonald’s right now.

I TOTALLY vote for this, for real.

Permanently. I completely agree with the original poster, what in the world took so long?
