The League of United Latin American Citizens filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday seeking to bar the state of Texas from moving forward with probe that would question the citizenship of nearly 100,000 of the states registered voters.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in San Antonio, alleges that Texas Secretary of State David Whitley and Attorney General Ken Paxton are violating the Voting Rights Act by attempting to intimidate voters from exercising their suffrage rights. The complaint asks the court to invalidate the probe and bar the two officials from attempting to move forward with it.
It shows how much racism and discrimination exists here in Texas, LULACs attorney Luis Vera Jr., told HuffPost. They didnt verify anything ― they didnt even try.
We look forward to appearing in court to defend Texas right to limit the states voting registration rolls to those actually eligible to vote, Marc Rylander, communications director for the Texas Attorney Generals office, said in a statement.
On Friday, Texas Secretary of State David Whitley announced that it had identified some 95,000 registered voters as potential non-citizens, including about 58,000 who had cast a ballot over the last decade. The office then began disbursing the list to county registrars, who will ultimately decide whether to issue letters to those voters that would give them 30 days to prove their citizenship or have their registrations revoked.
Paxton trumpeted Fridays news on Twitter, prefaced with the words VOTER FRAUD ALERT, in all caps. President Donald Trump gave the allegations further attention Sunday.
ETC...
Carry on boys and kick lulac to the curb.
“On Friday, Texas Secretary of State David Whitley announced that it had identified some 95,000 registered voters as potential non-citizens, including about 58,000 who had cast a ballot over the last decade.”
Seems like if there’s objective evidence of illegal voting, the court might want to take that into account here.
So, a Latino group is using the law to stop the law from scrubbing Latinos who violate the law by illegally voting?
How long do we tolerate this?
“by attempting to intimidate voters from exercising their suffrage rights”
Um......how?
If you are a legal U.S. citizen, then what are you worried about?

Funny how a Conservative would have no problem proving their Eligibility to Vote but a Liberal thinks it is some sort of attack on their Civil Rights.
I knew we were in trouble when I was on Jury Duty and they announced that anyone who isn’t a Citizen should see the Clerk. About a dozen People stood up.
Remember, all these People received a Jury Summons based on either having their name on the Voter Rolls or being a Licensed Driver in CA.
Supposedly, Illegals can get a Driver’s License but it is different than the License a Citizen gets. Not sure about Legal Residents with Green Cards.
LULAC supports the illegal alien invasion of Texas. They are as racist as La Raza. Texans are sick of both of these anti-Anglo groups.
Stop being afraid of the racism chant. It is tired, and it’s all they have. I wish ALL voter rolls were purged at a maximum ten year cycle. We have voter ID in GA, and that has kept recent elections from being stolen.
LULAC national president Domingo García said. Now theyre going to get a letter questioning their citizenship and their right to vote. Thats pure intimidation and borderline evil and cruel.
So cruel!
Do it anyway.
To hell with illegal usurper groups and activist judges.
Time for Wetback II, Muslim Roundup I, India I, 3rd World Country I.
LULAC.
If a Federal judge says a state cannot determine whether its voters are US citizens, turn the lights out. This country is OVER.
Time to round up illegal aliens and give them a green card so they can come out of the shadows and pay taxes and get off welfare or send them home if they don’t.
“...cruel”??? Not only should the illegal invaders be “identified”...their assets should be seized and they should be thrown out never to return. Criminals!
Interesting. Texas sends a new voter registration card every
two year cycle. It isn’t to be forwarded but returned if the
addressee no longer lives there. Thus they must not be doing
that but keeping them and then trying to vote as the named
person. They also must have approved voter ID.
Sounds like foreign election interference to me.
