Matt House, who served as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's communications director, was asked to leave the position last year after "inappropriate encounters" made staff members uncomfortable.
"Upon learning that he had inappropriate encounters within the office and that it was making some staff uncomfortable, he was asked to leave," a Schumer spokesperson confirmed to CBS News on Friday.
House's nearly six-year tenure working as a top aide for the New York senator had been praised as an effective one, though many were surprised in November when he left Schumer's staff without jumping to a new high-profile job. His reason for departing was first reported on Friday by HuffPost.
House told the publication, "I deeply regret the mistakes I made on the number of occasions when I had too much to drink, and I apologize to anyone who was affected by my behavior."
"I have always respected all of my colleagues and I was horrified to learn that I made anyone feel uncomfortable. In the past three months, I've stopped drinking and I've committed to making myself a better colleague and person," House said.
ETC...
By all accounts, Matt House was a behind the scenes political player.
It seems suspicious Schumer would let Matt House go unless there were serious and credible allegations.
What are the allegations?
Sen. Charles Schumers (D-N.Y.) longtime communications director Matt House was pushed out late last year after it was revealed he was having inappropriate encounters with junior staffers.
Who was the junior staffer? How junior was the staffer? Was the junior staffer male or female? What was the nature of this "inappropriate encounter"? Were payoffs included?
When other staff found out about the "inappropriate encounter" they felt uncomfortable and he was asked to leave.
What happened that the staff felt so uncomfortable around Matt House that he was asked to leave?
It MUST be pretty bad and quite credible.
See Ya! MAGA! :)
....means more than one....just another predator
At least we have his name. That’s different.
left Schumer’s staff without jumping
Somebody cue George Constanza saying, “Was that wrong? Shouldn’t I have done that?”
I was watching that Kevin Bacon movie “Death sentence”, *phew* what a movie. The beginning which shows what it’s like to have your child murdered by thugs, the absolute horror of it, and I was thinking what could be worse than that? What would be worse would be two scumbag Senators giving the killers an opportunity to kill. I can’t even imagine the absolutely hell on earth these Angel mothers are going through day after day, week after week, month after month, to see Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer spitting on them, telling them “Your childs life means nothing to us! A criminal foreign invader is more important” I don’t know how these families can stand it. I don’t know how Schumer can look at himself in the mirror, he’s not human.

He should have claimed to be an undocumented American, transgendered, or a jihadist -- he could have kept the job.
Walk it back Chuckie. Is there more to the inside on goings with the Smuckie operation ?
Well, he says he stopped drinking so he might even leave the DNC, get a regular job managing a donut shop and live a normal life.
Or did Schumer foster Matt House's sexcapades to keep the other distaff staffers in line?
And then when they went to #MeToo for recourse, only then did Schumer fire Matt House.
No different than NBC covering up for Lauer.
Or at CBS, Moonves kicking out Charlie Rose until #MeToo came for Les.
I know a lot of Freepers like to grumble about #MeToo - YOU COULD NOT BE MORE WRONG.
#MeToo has (ensnared), in a ratio of literally 100:1,
HOLLYWEIRDSTEINCBSNBCMSNBCHALPERINTIMEPBSNYTHRUSHNEUTEREDEREPUBLICFATBATALIKEILLORALFRANKENANTHONYWEINERSCHNEIDERMAN:Roy Moore and James Rosen
That's it. Roy Moore and James Rosen; and Moore's accusers are all questionable with a capitol Q. That leaves James Rosen. THAT'S IT.
Embrace #MeToo, repeat #MeToo on your social media outlets. Come down HARD on these Leftists because this isn't over by a long shot -- just look at Virginia Lt. Gov. Frankenfax
What was he caught praying or reading a bible?
