They did, did they? LOL! I think a lot of stations kinda went that route back then because The Beatles were IT.
Our little local radio station played a lot of their music as well as other British bands, and at night we could pick up WLS out of Chicago.
When Peter & Gordon hit the music scene, I figured Jane (Peter's sister) used her influence to get Paul to help them out. I don't know how long they were popular in England but they didn't last all that long over here. A shame because they did had beautiful voices.
WLs is a flame thrower station, I have heard them in TX but they don’t do rock anymore
I was a big Spirit fan in the ‘70s.
They did a reunion tour when I lived in Raleigh and played at the night club where I worked. Randy was a total jerk the first time they came in and I cussed him out. I was too mad to enjoy the concert that night.
When they came back a couple of months later, he walked up and apologized to me. We got along fine that night and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Hi, radu! It was actually pretty chilly today. I’m not sure it ever made it up to 60, Right now the house is warm, but for some reason I’m freezing and I can’t get my hands to warm up, Not sure what that’s all about. It’s uncomfortable though. LOL!
How was it there? Did you finally get a dry, warm day for a change, That would be so nice!
“Unique” was definitely not a word that came to mind that first time. The whole band and road crew stopped what they were doing and stared with their mouths hanging open as I tore into him. LOL! The nicest thing I said to him was to save his rock star attitude for the groupies.
We got along fine the second time. He was a pretty nice guy when he wasn’t behaving like a rock star. The rest of the guys were nice both times they were there.
I still have a poster from the club that they all signed.
It has been a rough week....I am SO ready to not be there!!
I got 3 “I didn’t get paid right” calls starting at 1p...I have to leave for the chiro at 1:30p. The first guy was supposed to pick up his returned check on Monday. “Well I can’t come in today and I go back to the slope on Monday” says he today. I had to bite my tongue. He called another EE who called his wife, a captain for us, and several calls and emails later we had the written authorization for her to pick up his check.
The second came for her returned W-2...nobody remembered talking to her and I couldn’t find it. So I had her start the Information Request form while I started to get a duplicate....then I had a thot...check for it being filed by her first name. There it was! And I filed it. *sigh*
Then a manager call that 2 EEs only got paid one week. It took me opening and closing multiple files to finally find the one...did she not notice her check the week before, off cycle, had lots more money as she got paid her PTO (personal time off) AND a full week of work? I told the mgr that I would check on the other on Monday, but he had a PTO payout as well, so she is going to check with him to see if the same circumstances apply to him.
I’m contemplating going in tomorrow just to clean up. I just put my computer to sleep and left. LOL!
She can really belt out a tune! Hard to believe she never charted with a voice like that.
