Maureen Dowd: How the egomaniac in the Oval was ‘exonerated’
The Irish Times ^ | 22 Apr 19 | Mo "I'm not bitter...really!" Dowd

Posted on 04/22/2019 12:33:50 PM PDT by seanmerc

When it comes to presidential obstruction, at least Watergate started with a crime. A stupid crime, but a crime.

After 675 days, more than 2,800 subpoenas, nearly 500 search warrants, $30 million spent, endless jaw-jaw on cable and countless whiny Trump tweets, we have come down to one fundamental truth.

And it’s the same truth that has been terrorising us all along: Donald Trump’s dirtbag machinations are driven by insane vanity.

The First Narcissist’s all-consuming blend of braggadocio and insecurity has turned Washington and its rickety institutions into a dystopian outpost of his id.

President Trump obstructed on nearly every page of Volume II of the Mueller report, even though Robert Mueller was too lost in legalese to throw the book at him. The report counts as the Worst Exoneration Ever, replete with incrimination.

Words come easy when they are descriptive of oneself. Maureen is every bit of what she claims Donald to be, and more.
She is also ginger.
Trump is yellow.
Yellow man very bad.
Red woman quite mad.

Hey, Slow Mo, these reports never “exonerate” anyone, guilty or not, seeing as they come from the prosecutor.

Mueller couldn’t find a crime so there is nothing to be exonerated of.

That’s right Mo, there was NO, repeat NO, collusion between
Trump and the “Russians”. There was however collusion between Obama, the Clinton campaign, and media and the use of government entities in an effort to effect the out come
of a presidential election.

Some people need prison time and should get it
good and hard.

Exactly. Obama was up to 10 million uses of “I” in his speeches at the two year point...then it got worse.

Wow, amazing what a good makeup artist can so to the Dowd hag. That’s a miraculous transformation.

My old man didn’t leave me with much wisdom. One of his three nuggets was to date gingers but never get into a close relationship with them. Two of my cousins did and their lives have been hell.

rickety institutions ?

The only rickety institutions I am aware of are the press corps. Very shaky indeed. Unless she is talking about the now shaky House of Representatives. Don't blame President Trump for that shaky institution, where a majority are now certifiably nuts.

Maureen Dowd use to go off on Bush I & II much the same way. She never met a Republican president she liked ... but Trump really knows how to push her button. :)
The vitriol here is ramped up to a whole new level.

Not even close - that would be Comey letting Hitlery walk.

Exoneration: The action of officially absolving someone from blame; vindication.

Trump wasn't charged or indicted for any crimes. No evidence of any crime.

By definition, Trump was exonerated.
