Hanging is probably the most just, but firing squad is good, and like hanging, comes with a long tradition.
Questions: is the person firing the able to detect the fact? Do the others also know, from the recoil, that they are not firing a blank?

I dont know, I like the psych effect of old sparky...
Partner, I like the idea that every time there is an execution that the lights in business buildings, government buildings and houses start blinking off and on.
Folks would know exactly when an execution is taking place.
