Rush Limbaugh... Flashback 2008: What ABC Predicted Climate Change Would Do by 2015

RUSH: Our buddies at the Media Research Center went back to their archives and they dragged up (or dragged out) a Good Morning America promo for a climate change special ABC was running back in 2008. Good Morning America played a promo for a special that aired that fall called Earth 2100, and I want to play for you a portion of the promo. Remember, ABC played this in 2008, 11 years ago on Good Morning America…

PETER GLEICK: (dramatic music) In 2015, we’ve still failed to address the climate problem!

JOHN HOLDREN: We’re going to see more floods, more droughts, more (fire noise) wildfires!

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: (channel change sound effect) Flames cover hundreds of square miles.

MAN 1: (storm b-roll noise) We expect more intense hurricanes!

MAN 2: Well, how warm is it going to get? How much will sea level rise? We don’t really know where the end is.

MAN 3: (channel change sound effect) Temperatures have hit dangerous levels.

MAN 4: (channel change sound effect) Agricultural production’s dropping because temperatures are rising!

HEIDI CULLEN: (images of hungry people) There’s about one billion people who are malnourished. That number just continually grows!

TEENAGE BOY: (prediction of the future) It’s June 8th, 2015. One carton of milk is $12.99.

MAN 5: (prediction of the future) Gas has reached over $9 a gallon!

MAN 6: I’m scared (bleep) right now. But I have to get this out.

RUSH: It was a bunch of young people in this ad. They were predicting that by 2015 — four years ago — milk would be 13 bucks a gallon, gasoline over $9 a gallon. The video effects show Manhattan half underwater.

They show very little of Miami left. This was gonna happen by 2015, and this was just a promo for a special that was to run and did run in the fall of 2008 called Earth 2100 — and it’s a good catch, because it illustrates just how wrong and fearmongering the entire climate change, global warming (now “extreme weather”) crowd is.

Rush looks back at a major ABC climate blooper. You'd think they'd be embarrassed by it, but no; they're still pushing the climate stupidity full bore. No amount of pie in the face will ever dissuade them, by golly.

They are on a mission. A mission from? They are just useful idiots.

Remember Yuri Bezmenov talking about what happens t useful idiots after the handlers get through with them? The thought of it makes me giggle.

It came out in 1973. It was the world of 2022 that it predicted. All the Oceans are dead, strawberry jelly is a rare and expensive item .Massive over crowding and thick pollution everywhere. It's only 3 years away from this dystopian world painted by Soylent Green. Even Chuck Conners was a bad guy! Speaking of nightmare visions, the RAT party is still hard at work trying to bring all of us back to the 1984 of George Orwell

I have lived very close to the Great Lakes for over 60 years and still do.

I have seen water levels much higher than today and much lower. Water levels in the Great Lakes are variable, much like the weather. What a surprise.

Any competent observer is well aware of the periodic fluctuations of the Great Lakes water levels. This is not new, it’s been a known fact as long as people have been paying attention. In the past much of what is now the Cleveland area was under water. That’s why the east side of town has a bluff, the old shoreline, that parallels the current shoreline for miles.

One of the latest tales of woe about climate change sea level rise, endangering national security, is the plight of Hampton Roads Virginia. Water is beginning to cover the roads, limiting access to certain Naval shipyards and docks. Turns out, the Chesapeake was hit by a meteor 35 million years ago, and the topology of the area is still continuing to subside, eons later.

Hey this is GREAT news! It must mean we have the climate change problem licked since these predictions didn’t happen.

Great article on Great Lakes water level

Here in S.E.Michigan, Lake St. Clair is raising havoc along the shore line with its high water level. St. Clair is fed by Lake Huron and flows into Lake Erie.......

A friend lives on one of the canals and he say the water was about 8 inches below the top of his sea wall. He and his neighbors had their walls installed years ago when the water level was flooding their properties.

Then a number of years ago the people on his canal had to pay a company to dredge it out because the water level was so low they couldn't use their boats.........

Water goes up and the water goes down....

There is clearly a difference between subsidence and sea level rise, but count on warmist to conflate the two.

Leftists are fatalistic con-artists, always putting out gloom and doom scenarios that can only be fixed by taking our money.

No wonder Millenials are unmotivated and suicidal — they’ve had so many “Earth will die soon” scenarios pumped into them. It’s actually another form of child abuse by teachers and MSM.

IIRC, 1969, our 150 yards of sandy breach front on Lake Huron was about 50 yards all summer.
