The Democratic National Committee released its June fundraising numbers showing the organization trailing its Republican counterpart late Friday afternoon when most of the media had already signed off for the weekend. Filings with the Federal Election Commission indicate the DNC raised more than $8.5 million throughout the month of June. Although the figure was $1.7 million higher than the total it raised in May, the DNCs haul was nearly dwarfed by its operating expenses. The filings show the organization spent more than $7.5 million throughout June.
Most of the money appears to have been spent on events, including the first Democrat presidential debate held between June 26-27 in Miami, Florida.
The committee reported spending $221,000 on catering, $106,000 on event production & site rentals, $61,000 on event decorations, $50,000 on expenses marked as event consulting and $19,000 on security, according to Politico. The filing did not specify which expenses were related to the debates in late June.
It is unclear if the DNCs efforts paid off, as now reports have been made about how much the organization raised following the debate.
Over the same time period, the Republican National Committee raised more than $20.8 million. The haul brings the RNCs total cash on hand to more than $37 million, compared to only $9.3 million for the DNC.
The GOPs fundraising prowess is likely the reason why the DNC waited until late Friday to release its June total. The time slot, infamous among media and political observers as the Friday news dump, is reserved for especially bad news that individuals hope will not receive scrutiny.
The DNC tried to get one past everyone last night, said Steve Guest, the RNCs rapid response director. In June, the RNC brought in twice as much money as the DNC.

actually, all of these totals are fairly small because we’re quite far out from the actual election; however, if the differences continue as a trend as the election approaches, it’s really bad news for the Dems ... YEA!
DemocRATs should ask their supporters to donate their welfare checks.
Nyuk, nyuk ...
You need to add up the totals of the national committee, the Senate committee and the house committee for each. That is there real war chest as they can coordinate how each spends thier money.
Donations to the candidates of MY choice just make more sense to me than donating to the RNC. Once they have your money they can spend it on whatever they please.
Donate to the candidate of your choice.
President Trump will not only be running for president, he will be campaigning for a republican House. He has a Twitter account, and enough money to do it.
Planned Parenthood is feeling a bit of a squeeze right now, so they're probably not able to be as generous as is usually their practice.
Also, like all liberals, they pay for results. Right now, the Democrats aren't doing so hot against the guy in the WH.
“Also, the Dem side has too many contenders at present. The ‘money’ will hold back until the field clears.”
yep. that’s absolutely correct. the smart money doesn’t want to be wasted on a gaggle of losers ...
“President Trump will not only be running for president, he will be campaigning for a republican House. He has a Twitter account, and enough money to do it.”
yep. and in terms of the money, the RNC has agreed that all of it’s fundraising will be joint with Trump PACs, mainly because Trump is the REALLY BIG DOG when it comes to raking in the big bucks ... OTOH, this also means that Trump pretty much owns the RNC and we shouldn’t be seeing any vocal anti-Trumpers getting money from the RNC .. they’ve all pretty much shut up for quite a while now except for that piece of shite, Romney.
In July they might be in third place, behind the republicans AND Rush Limbaugh selling a $27 T-Shirt!
The decreasing number of people, under this great economy, looking for their free handouts don’t have money to donate.
“Also, the Dem side has too many contenders at present. The ‘money’ will hold back until the field clears. A couple more debates and the field should know who is getting the major support.”
But these funds are going to the respective National Committees, not the candidates. From what I see from these totals, the RAT Party has a problem attracting loyal RATs to donate to it because, it no longer represents a philosophy to which most traditional DemoRATs can subscribe. Time will tell, but early fundraising can start telling the story.
This is totally anecdotal and may mean nothing, but we spent the day in DC today and went to Hard Rock for dinner. In the gift shop, they had American Flag pins with either an elephant or a donkey head in the star field.
There were only two elephant head flag pins, but probably about ten donkey head flag pins. After I left, they had only one elephant head flag pin.
By the way, the moon landing anniversary show out on the mall was fantastic. I normally wouldn’t go to DC when a special event is going on because of the crowds, but this event was totally worth fighting the crowds. Okay, I didn’t actually fight anyone...
They spent $61,000 for Event Decorations at their Debate without an American Flag in sight.
I wonder if they paid CNN any money for the Debate Lottery they just had.
Well don’t forget to factor in the $40 million of “In Kind” donations they received from the ABCCBSNBCCNNPBS DNC activists that pose as journalists!!!
What’s bad for the DNC is good for America. And Israel. And South Korea and Japan. And the Gulf sheikdoms...
democrats don’t realy raise money through the DNC any more. They use the state parties, PACs and shady organizations, which they open, get money from the Soros types, spend money, and close, relatively quickly.
It’s their way of getting around the direct donation rules.
They will spend billions once they have a nominee.
If you think 2016 was bad, you ain’t seen ‘nuthin yet.
Does that mean Bill Weld won’t be president?
