Plano ISD Superintendent Sara Bonser opened a dialogue with Ysleta ISD Superintendent Dr. Xavier De La Torre regarding the second annual out-of-district matchup between Plano Senior High and Eastwood High, scheduled for September 6. After consulting with local law enforcement agencies, Plano ISD administrators felt obligated to prioritize the safety of the participating players, students, families and communities, and have concluded that the timing of the game falls too soon after the tragedy in El Paso.

Why in the hell would Plano play El Paso?? It’s closer to drive to Washington DC from Dallas then it is to go from Dallas to El Paso! Long boring ass drive!

It's Texas High School Football. I was assuming that they would charter a plane.
Plano has to do something to recruit. They are competing with Frisco with its indoor stadium and Allen and McKinney with massive new football palaces. Compared to the competition, Plano's stadiums are clearly second rate.

Beto is an a-hole. He is the prototypical mass shooter. Everything about his profile suggests this. He is creepy and scary with way to much influence and power.
Our rural small town high school football team here in rural California typically drives hundreds of miles to play at another high school. Sometimes 6 hours or more on the bus.
It’s about 10 hours longer to DC than to El Paso from Dallas.
How fast do you drive from Plano to the Border? 35 mph?
So one guy shoots up a Walmart in El Paso and now all of a sudden it’s too dangerous to go there and play football?!
No, the would not charter a flight. Bus charter .. yes.
And it’s not uncommon to play far away teams early in the season.
FWIW, Washington DC is 200 miles further from Plano than El Paso is.
