As US coronavirus death toll mounts, so does the belief by some that it is exaggerated
Fox News ^ | 15 May 2020 | Robert Gearty

There’s a reason why some people believe government officials are exaggerating the number of COVID-19 fatalities.

One problem is the hodgepodge way states tally those numbers, Fox News has found.

Some states count presumed coronavirus deaths along with confirmed cases under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance issued last month. Other states don’t count those deaths.

Deaths have been classified as a COVID-19 death even after a physician or loved ones reported otherwise. And those who died “with" COVID-19 have been included in the count with those who died “of" COVID-19.

“I think a lot of clinicians are putting that condition (COVID-19) on death certificates when it might not be accurate because they died with coronavirus and not of coronavirus,” Macomb County, Mich., Chief Medical Examiner Daniel Spitz in an interview with the Ann Arbor News last month.

“Are they entirely accurate? No,” Spitz said. “Are people dying of it? Absolutely. Are people dying of other things and coronavirus is maybe getting credit? Yeah, probably.”

The doctor also said he believes there are people who died of COVID-19, but weren't counted. Determining a COVID-19 death is based on each doctor's best clinical impression and that varies, he said.

“There’s no uniformity,” he said.

The debate over whether the COVID-19 death count has been exaggerated has intensified as deaths from the virus continue to rise at a steady and alarming rate.

As of Friday, there were 85,974 deaths due to COVID-19 in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins University data. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was reporting 83,947 COVID-19 deaths on Friday.

Hospitals get $13,000 for a CCP virus diagnosis, and $39,000 when they put somebody on a ventilator.

What could possibly go wrong?

I believe the TRUE Coronavirus death toll is around 25,000-30,000..the rest they taking deaths from anything, cancer, heart attack, anything, and just adding “Cause of death, Covid” because the states make loads of money when there is more deaths due to Wu Flu

Government incentives, as usual and as designed, invite fraud.

Governments lie and mislead. It is as simple as that.

Infected hangnail death while not wearing a mask. Adds to the toll.

Unless they publish the total death rate for the past ew years as compared to this year along with COVID rate I can’t tell whether we are worse off or how badly.

FL pop 22 million
MA pop under 7 million.
NY pop 19 million
Why does MA/ NY have double the numbers than FL when they have been lockdown for 2 months and we are open in FL?

Kinda puts Trump in a hard spot. Total final death toll of 30,000 or 40,000 would tend to expose the total overreaction to this flu. I think Trump was fine with a little over count but give the dems an inch and....100,000!

The other side is, what are called “excess deaths” are up nationally and world wide, which suggests under counting. I don’t think anyone has a good guess on the over/under counting issue. Also, diagnosing someone for Covid-19 or putting someone on a ventilator when they don’t need it is fraud and criminal malpractice.

Answer:

Sheltering and cowering in place can kill you and your loved ones!:

Heather Mac Donald, the Thomas W. Smith Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, writing in the Hill:

“On Wednesday, Cuomo announced the “shocking” news that 84 percent of all hospital admissions were either people sheltering at home or nursing home residents. He shouldn’t have been surprised. The risk of coronavirus infection occurs overwhelmingly indoors. Researchers in China identified only one outdoor outbreak of infection among over a thousand cases studied.

Most transmissions occurred at home, rendering the close-down-all-businesses-and-shelter-in-place rule contraindicated.”

Study reveals that vitamin D likely to reduce serious coronavirus complications:

Remember locking and cowering down at home or in a nursing home eliminates getting your vitamin D, nature’s way by going outside and walking and talking to your neighbors.

Vitamin D is produced in the skin from UVB sunlight exposure and is transported to the liver and then the kidney where it is changed into an active hormone that increases calcium transport from food in the gut and ensures calcium is adequate to keep the skeleton strong and free of osteoporosis.

The study found that vitamin D can also support the immune system through a number of immune pathways involved in fighting SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.

This has NEVER been about YOUR or loved ones’ health!

This has NEVER been about “protecting the most vulnerable”!

There is a pretty heavy incentive to inflate the figures.Hospitals get money from the FedGov for each admitted WuHanFlu patient and a multiple of that for each put on a ventilator. The second is particularly perverse because there is evidence that ventilators except in rare cases do more harm than good. Better for most is pure O2 or intravenous oxygenation. It is also incentive to refuse early usẹ (which is most effective) of H-quine/Zpack as that doesn't bring much money and doesn't make as much as the Ventilators or the Rem-vir.

I’ve noticed a difference between the two largest Indian tribes in the US, the Navajo and Cherokee tribes, nearly equal in population.

The Navajo tribe is being hit hard, 2373 cases and with 96 deaths.

The Cherokee health services out of Tahlequah, report 72 cases and 3 deaths.

Non Indians have been hit hard as Delaware County OK, reported 16 deaths, most in a nursing home in Grove, and in Adair County, 3 deaths.

Scott Adams: Just brought up this really great point at Twitter. This is what he said:

Is every risk factor for #COVID19 a Vitamin D deficiency in disguise? Google it: old, overweight, black, diabetic, smog dwellers, nursing homes, prisons, shaded NYC streets, Chinese urban dwellers, covered body parts (Iran). All would have vitamin D issues.

Maybe we only think the heat and sunlight and humidity are what makes most viruses fade in summer. I believe science is not entirely sure why summer helps. All four variables seem promising, including Vitamin D. But the latter explains more observations.

Does the Vitamin D correlation work In reverse too? Who is doing unexpectedly well at keeping COVID19 at bay? Texas, Florida, other outdoorsy states. How about kids. Do your kids wear sunscreen every time they go in the backyard or street? Probably not.

Prisons are showing high infection rates but low deaths. Just learned that prison meals are engineered with vitamin D supplements. Makes sense.

I think each and every one of those points is excellent.

I have been pushing this zero cost prevention and possible cure for this disease since March.

“Go for a walk in the sunlight for 30 minutes a day. Got a dog, take the dog on the walk for its excercise and yours. Besides getting your zero cost Vitamin D, you will get a load of free Dopamine which will make you feel better. Your dog will thank you
