Very sad, RIP brave hero.

Master Sgt. Andrew Christian Marckesano served six full tours in Afghanistan
Sympathies to this brave man's family and friends. I don't understand why it was necessary for him to serve six full tours in Afghanistan except people like Lynn Cheney seem bent on keeping us there.

The hero could not have done anything more selfish. I understand the demons but he knew enough to seek help. (Retired Army officer)

His family and friends are in my prayers. Please Dear Lord, he did serve his time in Hell! R.I.P!

It's unbelievable what we ask of our soldiers today. When I was in an officer could expect one overseas unaccompanied tour in a career. Well, unless the Warsaw Pact came across the border.
So many deployments really puts soldiers and their families under a lot of stress.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Going by his last text and act, you could tell he was too proud to ask for help and that his message to others was the only way his pride would let him approach the subject. JMHO.
Still, he had a lot to live for. Even in these insane “eeee! wear your mask!” times. I can’t begin to imagine what he was going through.

This tragedy makes me wonder what his former battalion leader said to him during their dinner.

MY deepest sympathies for the man’s family and circle of friends. I never thought those repeated deployments into battlefields was a good idea, if at all avoidable.
I used to wonder, does this mean we don’t have enough qualified personnel? Should we be going back to the draft?
If someone is not ready to accept help, they often know how to act, so that concerned people will stop asking “Do you need help?”.

No offense but there ought o be limits on how many tours someone does. If this is going to wear good guys down, its something that either needs to be spaced/paced or limited. Put em in training or in testing new things, or totally diferent types of missions, something other than the same thing again and again.
And maybe cap it and give them a cooling off season. Hell we let the fields lay fallow every 7th year. Recharge the batteries and let the mind declutter.

This thread is going to bring out the absolute worst in the people who post here.,..........You can already see it in the comments............
It's a pathetic example of how far this website has devolved in terms of compassion for poor tormented people who have taken their own lives, especially military personnel........
I don't like it here anymore.......
