I had a feeling it'd be announced today, but never believed the puppet masters would be so foolish as to select Harris.

This is a bad choice. I’m not speaking from a conservative or Constitutionalist perspective, any of the Democrat nominees ran from bad to execrable. But from a purely campaign perspective.
What does she actually bring to the ticket? California is a solidly Democrat state, she’s establishment to the core (of at least Willie Brown’s core). She is not great campaigner, Her own Presidential bid fizzled in embarrassing fashion. Bernie bots won’t get excited as she is not identified with the socialists like AOC. Her only virtue is a different ethnicity and sex than Biden. That is not enough.
A VP candidate needs to bring something to the table. Bush brought Reagan the GOP establishment, Quayle brought Bush Conservatives, Gore was (at the time) a veteran and family man to balance Clinton’s weaknesses. Cheney was an insider to W’s lack of DC experience. Biden likewise for Obama. Pence is the perceived steady hand to a mercurial boss for a slice of establishment republicans.
All off them balance a perceived weakness. Harris doesn’t do any of that, unless Biden’s team is worried about Black voters, even then she is a weak alternative compared to other options like Susan Rice.
Mr. Trump should send Mr. Biden a “Thank You” card.
And her first act will be an Executive Order banning all firearms.

Pandering to the base, same as Pence brings to the Republican ticket. African-Americans and women make up a big part of the Democrat base. White evangelicals make up a big part of the Republican base. It's no secret why either was chosen.

She is unlikeable by other women for her adultery and her shrill personality. Say goodbye to the Independents. She is NOT African-American or “black,” so say goodbye to at least a chunk of African-American voters. Conservatives dislike her performance in the Russia hoax and, by the way, she also came across as not very bright.
