A new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen shows Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden clinging to narrow 4-point lead over President Donald Trump nationally, amid mounting evidence of a tightening race between the two politicians.
Among likely voters, 44% said they would vote for Trump, while 48% said they would cast their ballot for Joe Biden.
Those numbers are consistent with other recent results showing a tightening race, including a Yahoo News/YouGov poll from Saturday that showed Biden's lead over Trump shrinking by 30% compared to before the two parties' conventions last month.
Less than 10% of voters in the latest Just the News poll planned to vote for third-party candidates or were unsure of whom their eventual choice would be.
When a looser Likely Voter screen was used, however, Biden led by 8 points (50%-42%) in the Just the News poll.
"These results highlight the importance of voter turnout," observed Scott Rasmussen. "Right now, it appears that the Trump campaign has a modest turnout advantage. It's impossible to know whether that's from the convention or from events like those in Kenosha and Portland."
"Regardless of the cause," the pollster added, "the race appears a bit tighter today than it did a couple weeks ago."
The survey of 915 Likely Voters was conducted by Scott Rasmussen using a mixed mode approach from August 27-29, 2020
Hell Biden should be up 10 or 15 points in a national poll..I would assume they poll more people in Cal and New York
Bad news for Biden, considering he’ll win the massive democrat population centers like California, New York and Illinois by 30 point margins, he really needs to win the popular vote by over 6% to ensure he doesn’t lose the electoral college.
It will come down to the debates. Trump may also benefit from a reduction in COVID cases.
Sure Biden is up of course, Democracy Institute says otherwise and the three dozen who showed up to see Grandpa Groundhog come out in Pittsburgh for the first time in a mile and a half, says otherwise even louder.
I stopped trusting Rasmussen after he had Trump at 51% during the DNC Convention, and they had him at 47% during the RNC Convention.

add 15% to Trump’s numbers to account for Trump’s shy voters ... probably even more than that, actually ...
Anyone paying the costs to getting these thugs to Kenosha to riot, need to be arrested and locked up until they pay for the extra cost to this town/city!
Then bring them to Kenosha and let them walk a gauntlet of Kenosha citizens each day and spend the rest of this year working and repairing the damage they have paid for.

Wow. This far out? Only 4%? History tells us that you have to add about 10% to 12% to the Republican nominee. As we get closer and the day before the election, the polls will only be about 3% to 5% biased in favor of Democrats.

Trump should drop using terms like “Sleepy Joe” that sound pleasant and start with something like “Loot and Burn Biden” instead, to drive home Biden’s support of the rioting and destruction.

I must agree. It made no sense. I thnk Rass is tired of being labeled a GOP fanboy because there’s no way Trump lost 6 points durning the convention. I don’t see it as wishful thinking. It simply does not make sense.
As we all know it means Trump is winning by 5 points.
Absent the Plandemic, would 10-15 considering the economy on March 1.
