Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield said Tuesday that a COVID-19 vaccine would be released “by the end of the second week of December.”

Late September. My wife works at a daycare. I think she got it from one of the babies and I think I got it from her.
My daughter works at Walmart and she got it there. We had.mild to moderate symptoms.
Fortunately I am in a position (financially set and living in the woods away from folks) that I can afford to sit back and wait to see if these vaccines will do more harm than good. Or if I even want one. I get a flu shot so I’m not an anti-vaxer.
Do they test you for antibodies to see if you’ve already had the virus and didn’t know it because you were asymptomatic and then recovered?
If so, I think the next story will be how surprised they are that so many in the country has already had it.

So far as is known, NOBODY died of the vaccine in the trials. In all of the trials that I know of in Western countries of potential COVID-19 vaccines to date, one person died, but it turned out to be a person in the control group (got placebo).
I’m not exactly sure in all these trials how many volunteers received one of the vaccines, but it has to be over 100k in total, and probably 20-40k for any one vaccine. So, worst case for a vaccine mortality rate, at present you have 0 in the numerator and 20k in the denominator. Of course, in this culture, some people will fear even those odds.
If it helps me get into the nursing home to visit my mother, I will stand in line for it.
