Ask one question, who benefits financially from using a pandemic in the way it has been used: and not just financially but politically as well to amass power

I don’t really understand who would have a financial interest in proving that something that’s been gone for nearly 60 years wasn’t really a problem to begin with

Poor imagination. I can instantly think of a motive why a story like that would come out now "See, many people pushed conspiracy theories back then on how the vaccine was harmful and they were all baseless falsehoods and debunked. So don't fall for those doing the same thing today".

"we are generations past the time when such diseases were common, and I think people today can’t grasp the magnitude of the benefit vaccines have given humanity."

This, 1000%. I haven't yet met an anti-vaxxer who was around for the serious diseases we wiped out with vaccines. The sentiment I see now about how smallpox and polio weren't so bad, or how we could cure them by just having indoor plumbing and washing our hands; it's downright shocking. But at the same time, I'm continuously thankful to live in a time where people can't even imagine the horrors of those diseases.

I think that's part of what enabled the media and the Democrats to spark such a panic with COVID-19: people had no idea what to make of a new disease spreading without some sort of vaccine or treatment sitting at the ready. "New flu? Whatever, we've got flu shots and Tamiflu!" Decades ago, if it wasn't as bad as polio, it wasn't that scary.

The conspiracy theory about the polio vaccine and SV40 dates back to 2013. Most of the studies were conducted in the 1970s and 1980s.

My guess is that our closed churches here in Reno will have a really hard time getting people to return once they reopen.

You are assuming way too much on my general statement:

“Medical studies are as worthless as political “studies” unless you really know the players involved and those funding or directing the study.”

All day long, every day, all of us here evaluate studies, news stories, opinion articles.

“Study say the election was legitimate, no fraud involved”
“Study says Trump tax cuts are bad for the economy.”
“Study says illegal immigration is good for the US.”

When we know that those were written by the DNC, or some rapid liberal college professors, or some liberal think tank, we laugh and discard. If written by some group that is trusted such as the Heritage Foundation, we might give it some credibility.

A large number of medical studies are funded by big pharma, produce the result they want. Knowing that tells one how the study may be biased or the test protocols cooked to produce that intended result.

Whats your problem with any of that?

I’m only addressed your use of snopes.

I assume you were unaware it is a fraudulent site, posing as authoritative.

Dearest entropy,

Those in Heaven died from NOT getting safe, proven, early treatment .... NOT from not being vaccinated.

And, as we’ve previously determined, that 1/84 number is one pulled from your own backside, using your own unscientific numbers. Nothing officially published from actual science, Med or drug company numbers.

We’ve been getting together, FOR MONTHS!!, without masks and NONE of us have been vaccinated with this experimental, unproven agent. And, we’re all just fine.

We have Rx meds ready, should any of us happen to need them. But, numbers, overall, are way down and, I’m thinking, herd immunity may have been reached, a while back.

Not sure why you pinged me to your nonsense, Karen-style fear post.

I’m not a subscriber.

Take off your masks
Open up businesses and schools
Enjoy life as you did before CCP released this virus.

"Whats your problem with any of that?"

No problem with any of that, but the studies I'm linking to aren't from somebody trying to push a product. Nobody's asking someone to buy anti-SV40 pills (but if you wait a week or two, Alex Jones will have some in stock to sell you). SV40 was eradicated from products as of 1963. Other than some FakeBook conspiracy theories, nobody cares about it. The studies were done by people curious about the answer to the question. If the study says SV40 causes cancer, nobody loses. If the study says it doesn't, nobody wins. Nobody's paying any attention to it.

If you went and asked 10,000 people randomly in the US what their feelings are about SV40, I seriously doubt a single one could even tell you what it is. If you gave it context, I seriously doubt any one of them had ever heard of it before or had any clue what the issue would be. Nobody cares about it. So the studies have no backers with financial interest. That's quite common in scientific literature: somebody conducts a scientific study because they want to know the answer to a question, then they publish the results.

I shouldn’t have used it; I was being lazy. It was the first link that appeared and the info appeared valid based on a quick surface read of the scientific literature.

But you’re right, it’s not authoritative and I shouldn’t have used it.

“ The hypothesis that SV40 might cause cancer in humans has been a particularly controversial area of research.[4] It is currently unclear whether SV40 has any role in causing tumors.[5] As a result of these uncertainties, academic opinion remains divided, with some arguing that this hypothesis is not supported by the data[6] and others arguing that some cancers may involve SV40.[7][8] The US National Cancer Institute announced in 2004 that although SV40 does cause cancer in some animal models, “substantial epidemiological evidence has accumulated to indicate that SV40 likely does not cause cancer in humans”.[9] This announcement was based on two studies.[10][11] This 2004 announcement is in contrast to a 2002 study performed by The National Academy of Sciences Immunization Safety Review committee that stated, “The committee concludes that the biological evidence is moderate that SV40 exposure could lead to cancer in humans under natural conditions.”[12]”

mRNA vaccines/therapeutics aren't exactly new. We have been studying them since the 90s. The 80s even IIRC. The key breakthrough that made them workable as a vaccine came about in 2018 I believe-the use of the modified nucleosides that enabled the vaccine to get into the cell undetected by the immune system.

I don't begrudge anyone for not wanting to be in the front of this line. I got in the front of the line because I really don't want Covid right now and I work in an environment where I'm very likely to get it (an ER). So I picked my poison and the vaccine was it.

The dialectic gets heated here sometimes and that's fine with me. That's how we find the truth.

Dear Jane, only reason you are safe because no one in your group was actively infected. If you assimilate with strangers in any crowd, you are vulnerable to infection. Although it is obvious to me that covid-19 is not as bad a killer as plague, TB, yellow fever, ebola or SARS, it is more contagious than all of them simply because it is a brand new virus and no one had immunity to it from previous exposures.

My IQ is higher than those write medical journals, so I am not surprised none of those geniuses have published death rate comparisons between vaccinated and unvaccinated populations.

The basic summary of the scientific literature to date is:

It causes cancer in some animals
Theoretically it could in humans
No evidence of any actualized increase in cancer while it was used in vaccine products, no evidence of a decrease in cancer when it was eliminated in 1963.

In short, it seems like it ought to be able to, but doesn’t seem to actually do it in reality.

Again, we are ALL okay

I’m beginning to wonder about that “high IQ” of yours, FRiend.

You know, I really don’t have any monkey in this fight.

Nor am I a biological researcher.

I can simply read research and evaluate it from my training and thought process.

My conclusion is pretty simple.

I do not want any monkey DNA injected into my body.

Zero.

My body. My choice.

Others may welcome monkey DNA.

I acknowledge it is their body and their right to inject all the monkey DNA they can wish.

But it seems a foolish thing to me.

One more thing, I am a big believer in building immunity via exposure to any virus. That method is better than any vaccine. However it depends on how big the magnitude of exposure is. And how good your immunity level is if exposed.
Which is why I never stopped going to restaurants, gym and stores since last March. I do try to practice safe distance and mask so that if there is any exposure it will be small enough for my body to overcome it.

As far as the covid-19 vaccine, I have zero fear of it as well. I am anxious to do more travel all over the world, and a vaccination certificate will become a necessity to be granted entry in many countries.
