Democrats flipped the script this morning after their case collapsed on Friday against President Trump.
Democrats now want to change the rules and call in witnesses. This comes after Senator McConnell announced he will vote to acquit.
This comes after Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington leaked news on a January 6, 2021 phone call between House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and former President Donald Trump.
According to the Seattle Times — Rep. Jaimie Raskin, lead impeachment manager, called Saturday morning for Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington to be subpoenaed for the Senate trial, saying her corroboration of a Jan. 6 phone call between House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and former President Donald Trump was critical. Beutler, one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump.
Kevin McCarthy denies the leaked report by Herrera Beutler.
Republican Senators Collins Murkowski, Romney Sasse and Lindsey Graham voted for witnesses.
According to reports the Trump legal team requested to call in Speaker Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Bowser to testify before the US Senate.

This is my take from yesterday:
Nancy Pelosi is the chief executive of Congress with her job as Speaker. She is in charge of the Capitol Hill police. Who do you think told the police to break the protocol of requiring everyone entering the Capitol Building to go thru the Xray machine and not take in backpacks? The only person who could have done that was Nancy.
Another part of the protocol is the whole ticketing system that requires any visitors entering the Capitol Building, the White House and the Capitol Hill Museum to request tickets from their congressman 2 to 3 months in advance of their visit. These are time-stamped tickets which means if you request 9 am on Thursday and you are early or late they won’t let you in.
Somebody had to nullify that on that day and the only person who could have done that was Nancy.
Plus, there is evidence coming out that Antifa/BLM protestors were in on the planning stages weeks in advance. I wonder who got that ball rolling?
Who caused all the protocols to break down? Nancy did. She was the only one who knew the timing of the proceeding inside the main chamber. Trump didn’t know and neither did any of the Trump supporters. But, Nancy did. And isn’t it curious that the ruckus started precisely when that one Republican senator objected and the debate was supposed to begin and that was the exact point at which all hell broke lose?
Nancy caused it all to happen. She is the executive in charge at the Capitol. She timed the so-called “break-in” perfectly so as to stop the proceeding dead in its tracks.
But, somehow Trump is completely to blame?
I think not.
It would be interesting to see if there was a camera on Nancy while things were happening. Did she call her contacts shortly before?
And, is it curious at all that two Capitol Hill policemen committed suicide within a week of Nancy’s event? Were they the conduits between Nancy barking out her order and the event taking place and needed to be permanently “quieted”?
Nancy’s own daughter said she would “cut your head off and not think a thing about it.”
She had the motive and in the crime-line she was the only one who could have pulled it all off in such a timely manner.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven and Nancy’s got a lot of explaining to do.
If Bowser and Pelosi had advance knowledge of potential violence and still refused to bolster security, that makes them far responsible than Trump for NOT saying something after the riot had already started AND he didn’t even know who the rioters were. Given that Trump’s rallies were always peaceful (except for occasional hecklers and disrupters), Trump probably assumed that any trouble was caused by Antifa or BLM.
Seems the Trump team’s tactic worked. Raskin realized he stepped into it and made a deal if Trump team allows the hearsay into evidence he would pull the witness request.
The statement was already out there so no big give from the Trump team.
According to a caller to the Rush Limbaugh show who was there and who goes to the Roe v Wade rally every year, there was NO police or military presence.
There are wall-to-wall police during the Roe v Wade protests.
They wanted this to happen.

GP isn’t the only source of information. As much as they lie and distort, they are not worth reading to try to weed out truth from lies. I’m surprised you’ve got that much time in your day to do that.

The information that they have is that prior to the January 6th Rally, President Trump offered to mobilize thousands of National Guard Troops to D.C. to assist with security, and both the Mayor and Pelosi refused the assistance.
If Trump planned an insurrection, then why would he offer help to defend against it? If it was so clear cut that Trump's rhetoric both before and on January 6th was so inflammatory that violence was likely, then why did they refuse the assistance?
Nancy knew before hand, AND it can be proven.
So if she lies and denies, she can be charged.
And if they have electronic evidence - wow, just wow!

I would love to see Pelosi try and keep up as a witness....brain freeze ahead if she shows up!
Except that would surely be the truth!
