OK. May be.
‘Lil chuckle before bed.
Ouch, they may be enemies, but that’s a bad way to go out.
Regards,
Bad way indeed.
Accident? I’m not sure.
Terrible. I would not wish that even on the Iranians, potential enemies. All Lives Matter.
As you ask, was this even an accident?
I know nothing about flying, but I’m guessing that ejector seat doesn’t just spring up at the slightest turbulence.
Won’t be a do over.
Beep beep!
You just have to wonder about maintenance issues, and the quality of the mechanics. I’ll bet after this....none of the pilots agree to enter the cockpit until it’s been rolled out of the hangar.

In newer two-seat jets, the ejection seats are synchronized so activating one triggers the other. But in the older T-38, each person needs to take care of himself or herself. The co-pilot sitting in the rear seat needs to go first—otherwise the rockets from the pilot's seat will burn the person sitting behind. After you fly out, the seat itself falls away. The chute automatically deploys if you are at low enough altitude, and if all goes well, you should float to the ground at a speed that won't kill you.
have to admit, thats something you don’t see everyday.
but the idea could serve as a great “bad guy death” in Die Hard 9.
The F5 was sold from 1959 to 1987. So these are old planes.
Pulled a Goose.
Good lord....crazy
I’d think their pilots are fairly well trained by now
They are on rare occasion not enemies....they did help find al quaeda for us in Afghanistan right after 9-11
It’s those sticky mullahs
It takes effort to eject. Older aircraft, usually had separate ejection seats, independent of each other. Newer aircraft, can eject both seats, using one ejector. Each type aircraft is probably designed differently. Obviously, something went terribly wrong. Maybe an electrical short, but I wonder if anyone considered suicide, by ejection seat? Who knows for sure?
Bet they won’t do THAT again!
High overhead, a small aircraft turned south and departed, on a bearing that would take it toward a disposal point far out in the Gulf of Oman.
In addtion there is also word out that an Iranian warship caught fire and returned to port. And, there are two Iranian warships somewhere enroute to Venezuela. It sounds like the world navies have pools going as to whether the Iranians can even find Venezuela.
It wouldn’t be surprising that in their efforts for a nuclear arsenal they end up nuking themselves.
Which is just another tragedy in the history of mankind. The average Iranian is not a gibbering muslim fanatic. They wish the mullahs would all go to paradise at the same time so they can get back the freedoms they once had.
Thank Jimmy Carter for hog-tying the CIA which allowed the Ayatollah to leave Paris without getting whacked to begin the current mess in the Middle East.
Plus, Persian women are hot!!!
Sucks to be the ground crew. Hangars are huge expanses of cement, takes quite awhile to mop them. Now, they squeegee the ceiling.
